Before you step onto a site your Admins will have set up an area with an access point and safe zones (geofences) which will let your device know where it is safe to work.

The device can emit up to six different sounds.

  1. When waiting to enter a safe zone for the first time

  2. When you enter a safe zone.

  3. When you exit a safe zone.

  4. When the device turns on

  5. When the device turns off

  6. When the device is experiencing an issue

  7. When the device has low accuracy

We'll go into detail below about alerts and what to do if you are alerted πŸ‘‡πŸ»

Waiting to enter a safe zone for the first time

When the device is connected but is yet to enter the safe zone you see the positioning (pin) LED fading blue in and out, and 2 short beeps every minute.

Please note: If the device has not been assigned to a project with a live site, the blue positioning LED will flash and there will be no sound.

Enter safe zone alert

When a user enters a safe zone for the first time four quick consecutive alerts will sound to let you know you're in the safe working area.

Please note: This alert will only sound if the safe zone has been started on the Tended Dashboard.

Exit safe zone alert

The device uses three methods to alert you when you're not in a safe zone.

  • Vibration

  • A loud sound will be emitted

  • The alert LED will flash

Important note: If you receive this alert, step back into the safe zone to stop the alerts and continue working safely.

If you continue moving away from the safe zone and reach 20m from the safe zone edge the device's light will continue to flash but the sound will stop until you return to within 20 meters of the closest safe zone edge.

Status alerts

The device has four other alerts to indicate its status. These are detailed below:

When the device turns on

When the device turns on, two short audio alerts will sound.

When the device turns off

When the device turns off, two short audio alerts will sound.

Device experiencing an issue

In the event the device encounters an issue during use, three long consecutive beeps will sound every 10 seconds. Please speak to your supervisor if this is the case.

Device has low accuracy

If the device's accuracy drops below an acceptable limit three short beeps will sound every 30 seconds and the LED will flash red.
