How to Connect Your HubSpot as a Data Source

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Tinkery makes it easy to connect your HubSpot data — contacts, companies, deals, and more — without needing to write a single line of code. Once connected, your HubSpot data is copied securely into your selected Project, so you can analyze and build on it freely.

Here’s how to set it up:

1. Go to the Data Sources Module

Click the 📄 Data Sources icon (5th from the top) in the left-hand navigation bar.

2. Click “+ Create Data Source”

You’ll find this button in the top-right corner of the Data Sources view.

3. Choose HubSpot

From the list of available data source types, select HubSpot

4. Type your Name Source

Enter a custom name for your HubSpot data source.

Click Connect to HubSpot to continue.

5. Choose your HubSpot account

You’ll be redirected to a secure Hubspot login screen.

👉 Select the HubSpot account you want to connect

👉 Click Choose Account to allow Tinkery access

6. Grant Access to Tinkery

You’ll be asked to authorize Tinkery to access selected HubSpot data.

🔐 Don’t worry — Tinkery only pulls the data you explicitly authorize and never modifies anything in your original HubSpot account.

7. That’s It — You’re Connected

Once access is granted, your HubSpot data will be listed in your Data Sources module.

Reminder: Connecting a HubSpot data source does not automatically make it active. You’ll need to link it to a Project to begin using the data in your workspace.

Best Practices

  • Make sure your HubSpot user account has permission to access the objects (e.g. contacts, deals, companies) you want to import.

  • Use clear naming conventions when setting up the source — this helps you keep things organized across multiple Projects.

  • Tinkery pulls a copy of your data at the time of import. If you need fresh data, you can reconnect or update the source.

What’s Next?

Once connected:

➡️ Tinkery copies and processes your HubSpot data

➡️ Extracts tables and structures

➡️ And sets up your Project workspace for exploration and reporting
