What does it mean if the Terminal LED on my printer is orange?
An orange Terminal LED means the connected terminal is not powered on, or the printer is not receiving USB data from it. The printer continues to function as expected. Once the terminal is powered on and finished booting, the Terminal LED turns green.
Where are the Serial Number and MAC Address on the Printing Hub?
The Serial Number and MAC Address are on the back of the Printing Hub, on the labels above the cable ports under the cable cover. To print an Advanced Diagnostic Report, press the power button twice.
Note: The Serial Number is useful when troubleshooting with Toast Customer Care.

How does my terminal send print jobs to the Printing Hub?
Your terminal sends print jobs to the Printing Hub over the network or over USB-C. When the Printing Hub is on a network, it can print receipts from any device on that same Toast network, including terminals and handhelds. When connected by USB-C, it can also print from the terminal it is plugged into.

Compatibility and connections
Which Toast POS terminals can be used with the Printing Hub?
All Toast terminals and handhelds can print to the Printing Hub over the network. The Flex 3 terminal can use the USB Power Plus Cable included with the Printing Hub to deliver power, Ethernet, and USB printing through a single cable. The Flex 14 (TT200) terminal needs a TP300 Printing Hub Adapter to use those same features. See TP300 Printing Hub Adapter for Flex 14 FAQ and Toast Flex 3 Hardware Compatibility for details.
Also asked as:
Does the printing hub work with my terminal?
Will the new printing hub work with a Flex 14?
Which card readers can be used with the Printing Hub?
All Toast card readers can be used with the Printing Hub by connecting their cables to the matching USB ports on the printer. This works when the Printing Hub is connected to a Flex 3 terminal with the USB Power Plus Cable, or to a Flex 14 terminal with a TP300 Printing Hub Adapter. For help identifying your card reader, see Check Your Card Reader Type.
Can the previous Flex USB-C cable connect my Printing Hub to a Flex 3 terminal?
Yes, the previous Flex USB-C cable can connect your Printing Hub to a Flex 3 terminal, but we suggest using the USB Power Plus Cable provided with the Printing Hub.
Can I connect the Printing Hub without Ethernet, or set it up wirelessly?
The Printing Hub itself connects only by Ethernet or USB-C, it is not a wireless printer. When the Printing Hub is on your Toast network, other devices on that same network can print to it, including Wi-Fi handhelds such as the Toast Go® 3. If you do not have a wired connection at the printer's location, an Ethernet connection can be supplied by a network device. When connected by USB-C, it can also print from the terminal it is plugged into.
Can the Printing Hub print kitchen tickets, or only receipts?
The Printing Hub prints whatever is routed to it from your POS. What prints at the Printing Hub, and what prints at other stations, is controlled by your prep station and printer routing settings in Toast Web. To confirm where each item prints, review your prep station and printer routing configuration, or see Get Help With the Toast Printing Hub. If the printing hub is used in a hot kitchen, and tickets turn completely black, or unreadable, place the printer in a cooler area of the kitchen.
What are the different configuration and diagnostic slips for the Printing Hub?
The Printing Hub can print several configuration and diagnostic slips:
Startup Status Slip: Quick at-a-glance information about the device and its status relative to the network and other devices. To print it, power cycle the printer; it prints automatically after about 10 seconds.
Diagnostic Report: Key information about the printer's status, including connection details and errors. To print it, press the power button twice in rapid succession while the printer is on.
Advanced Diagnostic Report: More detailed information than the Diagnostic Report. To print it:
Turn the printer off.
While holding the Feed button, turn the printer on, and release the Feed button when it starts printing.
Press the Feed button twice, and hold on the third press to print the Advanced Diagnostic Report.
Printer Menu: A short list of printer configuration options. To print it:
Turn the printer off.
Hold the power button and the Feed button at the same time until the Printer Menu prints.
Troubleshooting and getting help
How do I troubleshoot my Printing Hub?
To troubleshoot your Printing Hub, see Get Help With the Toast Printing Hub, which covers power, connectivity, printing, accessory, and cash drawer issues step by step.
Why won't my terminal turn on after I connected the Printing Hub?
If your terminal won't turn on after you connected the Printing Hub, the cause is usually the terminal model or a loose cable. The USB Power Plus Cable powers a Flex 3 terminal only; a Flex 14 terminal needs a TP300 Printing Hub Adapter or its own power supply. Reseat the cable on both ends and confirm the Printing Hub Power LED is green. For full steps, see Get Help With the Toast Printing Hub and TP300 Printing Hub Adapter for Flex 14 FAQ.
Also asked as:
The printing hub is not powering my terminal.
My hub isn't transferring power to my terminal.
Terminal won't turn on, printer shows orange under the terminal button.
Why is my Printing Hub offline or not printing?
If your Printing Hub is offline or not printing, start by checking the Network LED and confirming the Ethernet cable is fully seated in the Ethernet In port. Confirm the printer and your POS are on the same network, then navigate to Printer Setup on the POS and select Check Status to refresh the printer. For detailed steps, see Get Help With the Toast Printing Hub.
Also asked as:
My printer is not showing up.
The printer shows offline on my handhelds.
New printer is not showing in setup.
Why don't my handhelds see the Printing Hub?
If your handhelds don't see the Printing Hub, confirm each handheld is connected to the same Toast network as the printer. The Printing Hub prints from any device on the same network, so a handheld that shows the printer as disconnected is usually on a different network or the printer is offline. For more help, see Get Help With the Toast Printing Hub.
What is the difference between the Printing Hub and the Device Hub?
The Printing Hub is the TP300 receipt printer hardware, while Device Hub in Toast Web is a separate area used to manage your Toast devices. You set up and manage the Printing Hub itself from Printer Setup on your POS, or from Payments > Checks & Receipt Setup > Printers and Cash Drawers in Toast Web. To learn more about Device Hub, go to Device Hub Overview.
