How do I edit my kitchen printer's ticket margins if they are printing incorrectly?


Answer

If your kitchen ticket's margins are cutting off words/letters and putting them on the next line, it may be because the wrong printer model was selected on the setup page in Toast Web. Certain printers expect a specific paper width, and if you have the wrong model selected it might have different default margins. This can also affect the header of the kitchen ticket.

Make sure that the correct printer model is listed correctly:

  1. In Toast Web, navigate to Payments > Checks & receipt setup > Printers and cash drawers.

  2. Select the name of the printer in question.

  3. Under the Model section, double-check that the selected printer model matches the physical printer you're looking at.

    1. The most frequently used printer models are:

      1. TP200 Toast Printer

      2. Epson T20 - Thermal Receipt Printer

      3. Epson U220 - Impact Kitchen Printer

  4. Save and publish your changes.
