Edit Key Settings

Updated over 4 months ago

Note: If you would like this feature enabled, please contact support.

Some customers may organize tens or hundreds of leagues and events each season, with hundreds or thousands of rounds. Managers must configure and maintain several settings for each league, event, and round.

Managing such a large amount of variables can often be complicated and laborious. Viewing and editing key settings from one central page rather than going through each league, event, or round profile can save time and reduce frustration on the managers’ end.

With the Edit Key Setting tool, you can handle a magnitude of data. It lets you get a general overview of the most important settings from your events/leagues and perform quick edits or bulk updates.

In this article, we will discuss accessing the key setting feature and how to utilize it to save time.

Accessing Edit Key Setting:

To access the "Edit Key Setting" dashboard from the Customer Center, go to Customer Settings > Edit Key Settings (as shown below).

Edit Key Setting Dashboard:

The dashboard is broken down into three areas (Note: Each of these areas will be discussed in greater detail below.):

  • Filter: The filtering menu allows you to filter leagues, events, and rounds by certain criteria, such as season, category, upcoming/past, or key settings values (as shown below).

  • Bulk Edit: Bulk edit consists of the update operations the manager can perform on most key settings (as shown below).

  • Table: The table is a filtered list of Events/Leagues based on the applied Key Settings filter previously mentioned (as shown below).

Filter:

As with most customers, you probably have more than one event/league over several seasons. The filtering menu allows you to apply various filters to the events, leagues, and rounds displayed in the table to narrow your results to those you wish to adjust. The Filter can be found at the top of the page, and it is an expandable/collapsible tab. The Filter is broken into two sections:

  • Quick: The Quick filter is a basic filter that allows you to filter your events/leagues by:

    • Seasons: Filter events/leagues by season.

    • Categories: Filter events/leagues by categories created in the Customer Center.

    • Show Past Records: While past results are uneditable to protect historical results, you can check this option to have an overview of the past records.

  • Advanced: Besides the basic quick filter, you can also set up some queries (advanced filters) based on the values of certain key settings within existing events/leagues. To utilize the advanced filter, you will be guided through the following levels:

    • First Level (Event & League, or Round Settings): Use the first dropdown to select whether you want to further filter the table by Event/League Profile Settings or Round Profile Settings.

    • Second Level (Specific Settings): After selecting if you are filtering event/league setting or round setting, you can select the specific setting you are interested in to filter the table further.

    • Third Level (Possible Values; varies): Finally, select the values for the selected setting you are interested in. Note: The possible values vary depending on the type of setting selected.

After defining the filters, the table of events/leagues will be adjusted based on the selected filters.

Bulk Edit:

Suppose you are interested in making edits to multiple events/leagues or rounds at once. In that case, the Bulk edit allows you to modify key settings for the filtered events/leagues (as shown below).

The following are the available options in the Bulk Edit:

  • All Pages/Current Page: You can decide whether to apply the bulk edit to events/leagues or rounds across all pages of the table (as shown below). Note: Each page on the table has a maximum of 100 events/leagues; therefore, if the applied filter does not narrow events/leagues below 100, the table will have more than one page.

  • Expand/Collapse All: To see all rounds expanded/collapsed within an event/league, click Expand/Collapse All.

  • Select Actions: There are several quick select actions to select event/league or rounds from the table:

    • Select All: Select all records (league, event, and rounds) from all pages or the current page (depending on the selected page option).

    • Select Leagues & Events: Select all leagues and events from all pages or the current page (depending on the selected page option).

    • Select Rounds: Select all rounds within the events/leagues from all pages or the current page (depending on the selected page option).

  • Clear Selection: Clears the selected events/leagues or rounds.

After you have made your selection, you can define the bulk edit that should be applied to the selected events/leagues or rounds (as shown below).

To define the setting that you want to update, the Bulk Edit will guide you through the following levels:

  • First Level (Type: Event & League, or Round Profile Setting): Use the first dropdown to select whether you want to edit an Event/League or Round Profile Settings.

  • Second Level (Specific Settings): After selecting if you are editing an event/league or round profile setting, you can select the specific setting you are changing.

  • Third Level (Possible Values; varies): Finally, define the new values for the selected setting to which all the selected events/leagues or rounds should be changed. Note: The possible values vary depending on the type of setting selected.

To apply the update, click "Apply Update," and the settings will be changed for the selected events/leagues or rounds.

Table:

The table is a list of all your events/leagues and rounds. The Filter setting allows you to filter the table by events/leagues and rounds. When filtering, the table has a record number for all the events/leagues and rounds in the table.

The table also has several columns with the following data:

  • First Column: The first column of the table contains a checkbox for each event/league, and round. Checkboxes indicate which records are to be included in a bulk edit operation.

  • Second/Third Column: The second and third columns of the table contain the name of the event/league and the round, respectively. The names are formatted as hyperlinks that redirect you to the corresponding event/league or round profile.

  • Fourth Column: The fourth column of the table labels the setting level or the type of the record, event, league, or round.

  • Remaining Columns: The remaining columns represent one key setting each. A setting can be:

    • Event/league-level only (e.g., master roster coupling, registration-related settings)

    • Round-level only (e.g., qualifying/non-qualifying, the set of round status automation settings)

    • Event/league-level and round-level (e.g., the default course & tees by gender set of settings).

Note: The settings column within the table may be grouped within a column. When the settings are grouped, you will see an arrow next to the column name that tells you additional settings are within the column. You can expand the column to see the additional settings.

To define which settings should be displayed in the table, check/uncheck the settings with the "Columns" selector. This allows you to decide which key setting will be shown or hidden on the table (as shown below).

The table is limited to 100 events/leagues per page to ensure it loads promptly. Therefore, if the applied filter does not narrow events/leagues below 100, the table will have more than one page (as shown below).

Note: Past records can also be displayed on the table when filtering. However, past records cannot be updated. Therefore, any of their relevant settings will be grayed out.

Activity Logs:

Since the edits made from the Edit Key Settings area can impact several events/leagues or rounds, you can find a Key Setting tab in the Activity Log. Each log will contain:

  • Date/Time of the Change.

  • Name of the event/league.

  • Name of the setting.

  • The new value.

  • Who made the change.
