When setting up an open competition in BRS, players can sign up for the competition in BRS, but the event and pairing pull will not be automatically created for you in Golf Genius TM.
In this article, we will discuss setting up your competition in BRS and managing the event in Golf Genius TM.
BRS Open Competition Set Up:
When running an open competition in BRS, your first step will be to create the competition in BRS. To do this, follow these directions:
In BRS, navigate to the Tools option from the Menu.
Then go to Open Competition.
Select the details of the competition (i.e., Competition Date, Name*, Playing Format, Green Fee's and when it is available for booking).
Click "Add," and the tournament will be created (as shown below).
Note: When creating an Open Competition in BRS, this will not auto-create an event in Golf Genius.

Golf Genius Event Setup:
To get your open competition ready for scoring in Golf Genius, you will need to do the following:
Pulling Pairings from BRS:
To pull pairings from a BRS tee sheet, follow these instructions:
Within the event, go to Calendar > Link Rounds to BRS.
The rounds within the event will be listed (as shown below). On the right, link each round with the appropriate BRS event. Note: If there is no event in BRS on the date of the round, there will be nothing to select.
Click "Save" after the desired rounds are linked.
Go to Rounds > Pull Pairings from BRS for the round where you want to import the pairings.
Click "Import" to import the tee sheet from BRS. The tee sheet will then be imported with the tee times. The imported players will also be placed in the event/league roster and marked as "Confirmed" in the round roster. Note: If there were already pairings in the round, they will be overwritten with the new pairings in the import.
BRS Player Registration:
Players can sign up for the competition directly on BRS. As players register, they will show on the BRS tee sheet (as shown below).
β
As players register, you can import them into Golf Genius by going to Rounds > Pull Pairings from BRS for the round (in Golf Genius) where you'd like to import the pairings. Click "Import" to import the tee sheet from BRS. Note: If there were already pairings in the round, they will be overwritten with the new pairings in the import.
Setting Golf Genius Course and Tees:
As players register for the event, you can set the course and tee accordingly. To do so, go to Round > Edit Existing Pairings. For complete details on editing pairings, Click Here.
Entering Scores:
Players can then enter their scores using the Clubs Score Input Terminal or the BRS Golf Scoring App.
