UK (England, Wales, Scotland, & Ireland) and Slovak WHS customers have the ability to automatically post scores to WHS to ensure all competition scores are posted on the same date of play, regardless of the status of the round. This allows clubs that often forget to post scores or run play-when-you-can tournaments to have competition scores posted automatically on their behalf.
In this article, we will discuss the setup and management of automatic score posting to WHS for UK (England, Wales, Scotland, & Ireland) & Slovak customers.
Set Account Time Zone:
When using automatic score posting, scores are posted before midnight based on the customer's default time zone for the event/league. To set the default time zone for new events/leagues, in the customer center, go to Customer Center > Default Settings > General Settings > Time Zone. Select the appropriate time zone, and click "Save." All new events/leagues created will use this time zone.
To set the time zone for an existing event/league, go to Event/League > Event/League Profile > General Settings > Time Zone (as shown below), select the appropriate time zone, and click "Save."
Enabling Automatic Score Posting:
Multiple requirements must be met to allow automatic score posting:
Rounds set to Acceptable
Create a Tournament
Default Tournament Selected
Round Status set to "Completed"
If these requirements are met, scores can be posted automatically to WHS.
Rounds set to Acceptable:
Automatic Score posting must be enabled on a round-by-round basis. Only rounds set to Acceptable will allow you to post scores to WHS automatically. To set a round as Acceptable, go to Round > Round Profile > Handicap Setting. In the section for Score posting, you will have two options (as shown below):
Acceptable: Scores will automatically post to WHS.
Non-Acceptable: Scores will not automatically post to WHS.
If you have set the round to Acceptable, you can "Automatically post scores at the end of the round's date?" If you want scores to post automatically, select "Yes" and click "Save." If you do not want scores to pot automatically, select "No" and click "Save."
Create a Tournament:
At least one tournament must be created. For more details on creating tournaments, Click Here.
Default Tournament Selected:
A default tournament must be selected to allow automatic score posting if you have multiple tournaments in a round. The default tournament is the first tournament that is created for an event/league. To change the default tournament, follow these instructions:
Go to Round > Tournaments.
Edit the tournament you wish to make your default tournament.
Check the box for "Set as Default Tournament for Automatic Score Posting" (as shown below).
Click "Save" to apply the changes. This tournament will also be marked as the default tournament on the Tournaments dashboard (as shown below).
Note: Alternatively, the check box might say "Set as Default Tournament for Club Score Input Terminals and Automatic Score Posting" if your club has enabled the Club Score Input Terminal feature.
Score Posting Activity Logs:
Toggling automatic score posting has important consequences. Therefore, we record these operations in Roster Activity Logs under Calendar Log. To see who has made changes, go to Event/League > Roster Activity Log > Calendar Log (as shown below).
Score Posting Results:
You can find score posting results from the Player Roster Logs by going to Round > Round Player Roster > Player Roster Log. There will be one of two messages:
Scores were successfully automatically posted to WHS: Scores were posted successfully. After the scores are successfully posted, the customer can see the full report on Rounds > See Posting Results. The report includes both successful and failed player score post.
Automatically posting scores to WHS failed: Scores were not posted successfully.
Disabling Auto-Score Posting:
For Individual Rounds:
If you need to turn off auto-score posting for an individual round, you can do that from the Round Settings by going to Round > Round Profile > Handicap Settings. In the section "Score Posting," set the option "Automatically post scores at the end of the round's date?" to "No" and then click "Save."
For All Future Rounds:
If you have previously enabled auto score posting and need to turn this off for all future rounds and subsequently mark future rounds as "Non-Acceptable," you can set the event level "Score Posting Service" setting to "Do not post scores." To do this, go to Event/League > Event/League Profile > Handicap Settings > Score Posting Service, and set the drop-down to "Do not post scores" (as shown below).
Note: This marks the rounds as "Non-Acceptable," removing scoring intent. If you need to remark the round as "Acceptable" but not enable auto score posting, this can be done from the Round Settings as outlined earlier in this article (Rounds > Round Profile > Handicap Settings).
