Q: I am using Digital Scorecards for a round. How can I communicate and send Player GGIDs to my players?

A: There a few different ways to communicate Player GGIDs to your players. While it is possible to include Player GGIDs on printed scorecards, it is not suggested because players (after exchanging scorecards in the beginning of the round) may mistakenly enter the Player GGID on the scorecard in-hand (which is actually the Player GGID for the player they are keeping score for).

Here are some suggested options:

Player Tip Sheet:

The Player Tip Sheet (shown below) includes all the important information that is needed by the player for a round. It includes tee time, starting hole, pairing group, Player GGID, and an optional message.

It can be emailed to all of the players prior to the round or it can be printed and distributed to the players.

Email:

If you would prefer to send the Player GGIDs via email (and not use the Player Tip Sheet), you can draft your own email and include the Player GGID in the message (as shown below).

Text Messaging:

You can also draft and send text messages to your players that include their Player GGID. Simply include the available "Player GGID" field (as shown below) in your message.

This is a great way to ensure they will have their Player GGIDs accessible when on-site for the round.

Reports:

You can create customizable reports that include Player GGIDs. This can be done by including the "Player GGID" field (as shown below) when creating a report using the Report Composer, Page Composer, or Spreadsheet Composer.

Some suggestions:

  • Include the Player GGID on an alpha list created by the Report Composer.

  • Include the Player GGID on a tee sheet/starter sheet created by the Report Composer.

  • Create sticky labels that include Player GGIDs using the Page Composer. These labels can then be attached to other material (e.g., rules sheet, hole location sheet, scorecard, etc) or even their golf bag.
