Multiple Column Headers with the Report Composer

Updated over 4 months ago

This feature is available for the following products:

When creating or editing a report using our Report Composer, you may sort and break content into multiple columns. You may also want to have different column headers for each column if doing so. An example would be a tee sheet with two starting holes (#1 and #10). The tee times starting on #1 will be listed on the left column, and the tee times starting on #10 will be listed on the right column.

In this article, we will discuss how to use multiple column headers in your report.

Report Setup:

The layout of your report will need to use multiple columns (as shown below).

You can select an existing layout or create a new layout to meet your needs. For more details about selecting an existing layout or creating a new layout, Click Here.

If you want your content to be consistent in a column, you will also need to use Page Control to break the content across columns. For example, pairing groups starting on #1 are on the left, and those starting on #10 are on the right. For more details on using Page Control to break content, Click Here.

Enabling Multi-Column Headers:

After you have established your report layout and content, you will need to enable an option to use multiple column headers. When editing the report, click the gear icon in the Column header section in Content to define individual column headers (as shown below).

In the popup, check the box for "Individual Column Headers" (as shown below).

Designing Multi-Column Headers:

To design the column headers of the report, click "Design" (as shown below). For complete details about designing structure levels, Click Here.

When designing with multiple column headers, there will be a design area for each column header (as shown below).

In the example above, we are designing for each foursome, with those starting on Hole #1 on the left and those starting on Hole #10 on the right. The left column design area is marked with a red arrow and the corresponding head marked with a red box. The right column header design area is marked with a blue arrow and the corresponding header marked with a blue box.

You open up the text editor when adding text or clicking an existing text placeholder (as shown below). In the column header, you will be able to include general event/league data fields or first structure level data fields from your report design. In the example below, our first structure level is "Hole (starting hole in edit pairings)."
