Page and Column Breaks with the Report Composer

Updated over 4 months ago

This feature is available for the following products:

When creating a report using the Report Composer, there may be cases where the content needs to be separated by page or column breaks. This is often the case for division reports, flight reports, and multi-tee or multi-course tee sheets.

In this article, we will discuss how to use page breaks and column breaks in your reports.

Page Breaks with Single Column Reports:

When designing a report with a single column, there will be an option to enforce page breaks at any level in the report (as shown below).

The setup above shows the structure of a division report where a page break will be created after all of the players in a division are listed (and a new page will list the players in the next division).

Page and Column Breaks with Multi-Column Reports:

When designing a report with multiple columns, you can enforce page and column breaks at any level by clicking "Page Control" (as shown below).

When selecting "Page Control" you can select some break options (as shown below).

  • Stick to Column: This option will keep the information organized so that the columns or pages never break. An example would be a tee sheet with two starting holes (#1 and #10). The tee times starting on #1 will be listed on the left column for all of the pages of the report. The tee times starting on #10 will be listed on the right column for all of the pages of the report. In other words, the information in the left column continues to go down to the next page rather than to the column to the right.

  • Break Settings:

    • None: Do not apply any column or page breaks as the information is listed. Headers will separate the information instead.

    • Break Column: Apply a column break to separate the information in the selected level. (e.g., new column for every flight, division, starting hole, course etc)

    • Break Page: Apply a page break to separate the information in the selected level. (e.g., new page for every flight, division, starting hole, course etc)

After selecting a break setting, click "Save" and the setting will be applied to that level of the report.
