IC Greens (IGS) Integration

Updated over 2 weeks ago

This feature is only available with the following products:

Note: To enable this integration, contact our support team.

If your facility utilizes the IC Greens (IGS) club system and cart navigation, then you can take advantage of our IGS integration to automatically retrieve player and live score data for your events. This integration has the following functionality:

  • Import and Sync Event Roster List

  • Create and Sync Pairings

  • Import Scores

When setting up and managing an event in Golf Genius, this integration will take care of creating your roster, pairings, and importing scores. To enable the integration within an event, you will need to meet some prerequisites, follow the setup procedures, and create tournaments, as outlined in this article.

Prerequisites for Enabling IGS Integration within an Event

To ensure the integration functions correctly, the following prerequisites must be met, and will be outlined later in this article:

  • Enable the integration & set the IGS Subdomain: This is done in the Round Profile.

  • Set a Default Tee for All Golfers Division:

    • This is necessary as golfers' import details do not include information about the course and tee golfers are playing.

    • A default tee is required to create pairings and enter scores.

    • Note: As the golfer's gender is not retrieved from IGS, different tees by gender cannot be used with this integration.

  • Create a tournament: Create your round tournament to generate a leaderboard. Note: This integration supports multi-round tournament with additional requirements. A Section dedicated to multi-round tournament can be found later in this article.

  • Move the Round to the 'In Progress' (optional): The integration will begin retrieving data once all prerequisites are met, regardless of the round status, but it's recommended to set the round to 'In Progress' if you are utilizing live scoring.

These prerequisites can be completed in any order. Once all are satisfied, the system will begin retrieving data from IGS.

Enabling the Integration for a Single Round Event

To enable the integration within an event, follow these directions:

  1. Navigate to Round > Round Profile > Tournaments & Scoring.

  2. Scroll down to IGS Integration.

  3. Check the box "Enable IGS Score Posting."

  4. Enter the subdomain from IGS for the event (as shown below).

  5. Click "Save" to apply the settings.

Enable the Integration for a Multi-Round Event

In a multi-round tournament, the integration should be activated only on the day of the scheduled round (Event > Event Profile > Rounds & Scheduling > IGS Integration), as outlined in the previous section, for each round included in the Multi-Round Tournament. Since the integration functions according to the current date (today), if the round date does not match the current date, the integration will not be enabled for that round.

For each consecutive round, golfers will be matched in the tournament automatically if they have played in previous rounds.

Tournament Filtering (Optional)

To only process data for a specific tournament, you can enter a tournament ID to add tournament filtering. Note: Only one Tournament ID can be entered. To enter a tournament ID, follow these directions:

  1. Navigate to Round > Round Profile > Tournaments & Scoring.

  2. Scroll down to IGS Integration.

  3. Check the box "Enable IGS Score Posting" (if not already done so).

  4. Enter the Tournament ID in the "Set up Tournament ID" field (as shown below).

  5. Click "Save" to apply the settings.

The tournament ID can be found in the IGS Management App by navigating to Competition Management > Edit Competition, and checking the ID in the URL (as shown below).

Note: By setting a valid Tournament ID, only the matched results will be computed from IGS. If no Tournament ID is saved, all results will be processed.

Setting the Default Tee for All Golfers Division

To set the default tee, follow these directions:

  1. Navigate to Event > Event Profile > Rounds & Scheduling.

  2. Scroll down to "Pairing Size" section.

  3. Check the box "Set up a default course & tee by gender."

  4. After that option is checked, a new section, "Default Course & Tee, " is displayed below. In this section, define the default course and tee. Set the same default tee for both male and female golfers. Since a golfer's gender is not imported from IGS, only one tee can be used (as shown below).

  5. Click "Save" to apply the settings.

Creating a Tournament

Depending on your needs, you can create single-round tournaments or multi-round tournaments.

Single Round Tournament

To create a tournament within your event, follow these directions:

  1. Add a Round if you have not already done so.

  2. Navigate to Rounds > Tournament.

  3. Click Add New Tournament.

  4. Define your tournament setting and click "Save."

Multi-Round Tournament

To create a multi-round tournament within your event, follow these directions:

  1. Add Rounds if you have not already done so.

  2. Navigate to Event/ > Multi-Round Tournament.

  3. Click Add New Multi-Round Tournament.

  4. Define your tournament setting and click "Save."

For complete details on creating a tournament, Click Here.

Moving the Round to "In Progress" (Optional)

After finishing the setup for a round, move the round to "In Progress" on the day of the round, under the Rounds Menu (as shown below). The leaderboard for the round will now be live.

Important Information

Golf Genius will stop processing data from IGS for an event when one of the following conditions is met:

  • The IGS integration is manually disabled at the Event Level.

  • The round date is set to a past date.

There are some limitations to be aware of:

  • No Golfer Filtering: All golfers included in the IGS response are imported into the Event Roster; there is no option to filter them.

  • New Member Cards: Imported golfers are not linked to existing Master Roster golfers. A new Member Card is created for each new golfer imported via this integration.

  • One Tee Per Event: Only a single default tee can be used for the entire event.

  • Score Limitations:

    • IGS does not support X/X7 scores.

    • IGS supports a maximum score of 99. While Golf Genius supports higher scores, hole-by-hole scores are provided by the IGS integration.

Benefits to be aware of:

  • Tournament Format Support: Because the integration enters scores into Golf Genius, it supports any tournament format configured within Golf Genius.
