Adding Your Accounts

In this area, you can add the “customer accounts” you do jobs for. These include Motor Clubs, Dealerships, Body Shops, Fleet Customers, and any other company you do work for. Towbook has a few accounts set up automatically, but if you don’t work for those customers you can delete them easily.

It’s simple to create new customer accounts. To add an account, click on the Accounts tab at the top of the page in Towbook, then select “Add Account” in the top left.

Be sure to set the type of account when adding customers. 

For motor club accounts, include your provider ID in the name of the account (example: Agero MI12345). You must create an account for all unique provider IDs - So if you have 3 different provider IDs for Geico, you should have 3 different Geico accounts in Towbook.

For motor clubs and other accounts you don’t send statements to, address information is not necessary.

The billing address is only required if the account has a separate billing address. If they only have one address, you do not need to add a second address.

Select the tax-exempt check box if you work you do for this customer is not taxed.

That’s all you have to do for getting rolling with your accounts, everything else in this section is optional.
