What is a Validation

You can set validations to questions on your form to create an alert or warning when values are out of a specified range are require corrective action to be taken.


How to add Validations

  1. Go to the Form Library and Edit the required form.

  2. Go to the required question and click Validations.

  3. Click Add Validation and define the if condition.

  4. Select the next step type.

  5. Apply an error message.


Validation types

  • Reject – requires the user to enter the correct expectation

  • Allow – record a validation issue

  • Allow – raise an action (requires the Actions module)

  • Allow – raise a form action (requires the Actions module)

There are two options in the validation settings involve the action plan.

  • Allow – raise an action: This option allows you to group errors into selected action plans, and it does not require you to attach a specific action plan. For example, you can assign Error 1 to the Food Safety Action Plan and group Error 2 under the Fire Safety Action Plan, depending on the nature of the errors.

  • Allow – raise a form action: This option will auto-assign all the errors to one single action plan and the action plan must be attached to the form. Otherwise, the actions cannot be generated.
