BorderConnect Integration

Updated over 10 months ago

Truckbase now supports a direct integration with BorderConnect, allowing Pro users to generate and send required customs documents when operating between the U.S. and Canada.

Note: This feature is available for Pro users only. To get started, please contact support@truckbase.com and we will help you get set up.

Step 1: Set up carrier information

  1. Contact support@truckbase.com to have the integration enabled for your account.

  2. As part of setup, you’ll need to provide your BorderConnect Company Key.
Our team will help you get this entered in the system.

  3. Once enabled, go to Settings > Organization and fill in the following fields:

    • SCAC #

    • CA Carrier Code

Step 2: Complete driver border documentation

  1. Go to the Teams table and open a driver profile.

  2. In the Border crossing section, populate the drivers FAST card or other travel document information for drivers that are participating in cross-border shipments.

Step 3: Update equipment information

  1. Go to Equipment and open each vehicle or trailer used for cross-border trips.

  2. Ensure relevant compliance details (e.g., license plate, safety info) are entered.

Step 4: Add Port of Entry Locations

  1. When creating or editing a location, you’ll now see a new field labeled Address Type.

  2. Select either:

    • U.S. Port of Entry

    • Canadian Port of Entry

This helps designate stops that are relevant for customs clearance.

Step 5: Build the order/trip and send manifest

  1. Create an order and assign it to a trip.

  2. Once ready, go to either:

    • The Dispatch Table, or

    • The Trip Overlay Page

  3. Click the three-dot menu and select Send Manifest.

If any required information is missing (e.g., driver documents, port locations, etc.), Truckbase will notify you so you can make corrections before submitting.

Step 6: Track manifest status

After submitting, the manifest will move through the following statuses:

  • Submitted – Sent to BorderConnect and pending processing

  • Accepted – Successfully received and approved by customs

  • Rejected – There was an issue, hover over tooltip for details
