We’re excited to share the latest updates to Truckbase! This release includes filters on locations table, sales tax for Truckbase invoices & QuickBooks Desktop, class tracking at service line level, saved views on new pages, and more.
1. Track Current Location of Equipment (Video)
For teams managing large trailer pools, you can now manually track the current location of each trailer or piece of equipment—directly in Truckbase.
A new “Current Location” column has been added to the Equipment Table
You can manually update this field by hovering over the row and selecting a location from the dropdown
Note: This field is informational only. It does not affect dispatching, tracking, or any other workflows in Truckbase, it’s purely for internal reference.
2. Sales tax on Truckbase & QBD invoices - Pro Tier (Video)
You can now apply sales tax directly to Truckbase generated invoices and need more control over tax calculations.
Who is this for:
Carriers using Truckbase invoicing
Carriers connected to QuickBooks Desktop
Especially useful for Canadian carriers needing to apply GST, HST, or other regional taxes
How it works:
Go to Settings > Invoicing & Accounting
Enable the setting: Enable Sales Tax on Invoices
Add:
Tax Name (e.g. GST, HST)
Tax Item ID (used for QuickBooks Desktop mapping)
Tax Rate %
When creating an invoice, select which sales tax to apply
The tax will appear on the invoice and sync with QuickBooks Desktop if connected
Note: This feature is not available yet for those using QuickBooks Online, please stay tuned for updates.
3. Service-level Classes (Video)
For carriers connected to QuickBooks Online with class tracking enabled, you can now assign a QBO class to each individual service line.
A new “Class” column now appears in the advanced rates table on:
Create/Edit Order pages
Create/Edit Invoice pages
This new column is automatically available if you are connected to QBO, and your account has service classes enabled
4. Export Work Orders & Expenses to CSV
You can now export data from the Maintenance and Other Expenses tables for easier reporting and record keeping.
To export all works orders or expenses, select the 3-dot menu in the top right header on either table and select Export to CSV
You can also select the individual work orders or expenses, and export from the footer at the bottom by clicking Export N Work orders/expenses
5. Saved Views Now Available on Board, Calendar & Availability table (Video)
You can now create and access Saved Views on more areas of the Dispatch section, expanding your ability to organize your workspace.
Saved Views are now supported on:
Board View
Calendar View
Availability Table View
Just like with Orders and Trips tables, you can:
Apply filters and layout preferences
Save them for quick access
Easily switch between views for different team workflows
Why it's helpful:
Tailor views for your dispatchers, planners, or operation leads
Quickly switch between filtered views for region-specific, driver-specific, or equipment-specific operations
Avoid reapplying filters each time you return to these views
6. Add Fuel Deductions Directly in Settlements
If you deduct fuel costs from driver pay, you can now add individual fuel transactions directly within a settlement, without needing to visit the Fuel table.
When building or editing a settlement, you’ll now see an option to "+ New fuel deduction"
7. Filters Now Available on Locations Table
We’ve made a few updates to make the Locations Table easier to navigate and filter.
You now have a Location Name filter so you can quickly search for a specific address, city, or state
Use the Customer filter to narrow down locations tied to a specific customer
That wraps up this week’s release! If you have any questions or need help with any of these updates, reach out to us at support@truckbase.com.
