Order Notifications

Order notifications allow you to automatically update your customers on the status of their orders.

Setting Up Order Notifications

Global Settings

Setting up order notifications at a global level ensures that all your orders follow a consistent notification process. This includes defining who receives notifications, when they are sent, and what triggers them.

  1. Access Settings

    • Navigate to Settings from the sidebar menu

    • Click on App Settings

  2. Configure Order Notifications

    • Click on the Order Notifications tab

    • Set the default recipients who will receive notifications

    • Define when status emails should be sent to customers

    • Specify which stop statuses trigger notifications to be sent to customer contacts

    • Save your changes

These settings will apply to all new loads and orders by default, ensuring a standardized communication process with your customers.

Creating a New Load/Order

  1. Select a Customer

    • When creating or editing a load/order, select a customer from the Customer field dropdown menu

    • Ensure the selected customer has an associated customer contact, as this is required to send notifications

  2. Enable Notifications

    • Check the box labeled Notify Customer When Status Changes

    • By default, order notifications will be sent to the customer contact based on the global settings configured in the app settings

Overriding Global Settings at Order Level

While the global settings provide a standardized approach, there may be times when you need to customize notifications for a specific order. Overriding the global settings at the order level allows for this flexibility.

  1. Edit Order Notification Settings

    • To override the global settings for a specific load/order, click on Edit Order Notification Settings underneath the Customer field

    • This will open the Edit Order Notification Settings modal

  2. Customize Notification Settings

    • Override the default global settings

    • Add any additional recipients besides the selected customer contact to receive these notifications

Automatic Notifications

  • Once you create or save the load or order, and the driver updates the status of their trip, automatic email notifications will be sent

  • The customer contact and any additional recipients will receive an email notification with the updated status and a link to check the status of the order
