Here's what's new in Trunk Tools for the August 2026 release. This update expands what teams can bring into Trunk Tools, what they can learn from their project data, and how they can act on the results.
Platform and collaboration
Permissions — Admins now have file-level control over what Users and Collaborators can search. This makes it easier to include owners, subcontractors, consultants, and JV partners without exposing unrelated documents.
Conversation Sharing — Project teammates can share chat context and collaborate on RFI conversations. New RFI Prevent & Draft conversations are visible to authorized agent users by default. To keep one private, switch the toggle from Shared with project to Private at ask time.
TrunkText
Chat attachments — Analyze documents, images, schedules, and email files directly in a conversation, without adding them to your project document set.
Write to files — Turn chat answers and analysis into downloadable PDF, Excel, or Word files for sharing and downstream workflows.
Weather — See current conditions and forecasts in chat, and today's conditions on the project home page, based on your project's primary location.
TrunkBid
Redesigned bid analysis — The Analysis experience is rebuilt around scope coverage, pricing context, and consolidated insights, so estimators and project teams can identify bid gaps before buyout.
TrunkRFI
RFI Impact Analysis — Checks official RFI responses against your specs, submittals, drawings, and schedule data, then produces a severity-ranked report with evidence and recommended next steps.
Integrations
New change-management & cost modules (early adopter) — Bring change-management and cost records into Trunk Tools. After your Procore or Autodesk integration is set up, switch these modules on under Configure modules; the app marks them Beta. This early-adopter release connects and reads the data; automated Change Event workflows are still in development.
