April 2026 Release Notes
A lot is happening this spring, and the info below is a summary of what you can expect from us now and in the coming weeks. As always, please reach out to us with any questions you have.
Trunk Tools v3 is here!
A new and improved version of our underlying AI model — what we often call the brain of construction — is now live for all customers on all projects.
Here's what's new and improved with Trunk Tools v3 compared to v2, which you'll notice most clearly in our Q&A agent, TrunkText:
68% more questions are fully answered on the first response by including the specific data point you're searching for and can act on immediately.
Deeper reasoning to better understand your intent, support multi-part prompts, and identify all relevant sources to answer your prompt
More structured data fields from your project management system, including Submittals and Daily Logs
Similar to when you use the most advanced AI models from ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, getting richer, more deeply sourced and reasoned responses to your prompts takes just a few seconds more than with Trunk Tools v2. We're confident you'll be pleased with the gains you get from those 5–10 seconds of additional wait time.
Add TrunkSubmittal to Autodesk and Procore Submittal Workflow
In order to simplify your submittal review workflow even more, we're happy to share that you can now set up Trunk Tools as a step in your Autodesk or Procore workflow.
When it's our turn to review a submittal, TrunkSubmittal automatically runs the review and posts the response back into your project management system. No need to leave your existing workflow or change how your team operates.
Now Available: Submittal Register Tool
If your status quo on projects with hundreds or even thousands of submittal requirements is to spend multiple days in preconstruction building your register, or to rely on tools in your PMS that regularly miss requirements and have limited configurability, this is for you!
Our Submittal Register tool, now generally available, does a few things other solutions don't:
Extracts every submittal requirement from your project spec book
Builds a full product hierarchy from your specs and eables you to link products to each submittal
Publishes the register back to your PMS (Autodesk Forma, Procore) or exports to CSV
If you have a new project you'd like to use the Submittal Register tool for, please reach out to your CSM.
Coming Soon!
As long as there are more time-intensive, repetitive, document-heavy workflows in construction to augment with AI, we plan to keep building solutions that handle the busywork and #LetBuildersBuild.
Here's a preview of what we plan to release in the coming weeks and months.
(1) A more user-friendly design of our web application that will help users get even more work done in Trunk Tools. The first of these improvements, a new navigation panel with easy access to your agents, admin tools, and all your projects, will be available before the end of April!
(2) TrunkRFI (In Beta): At least 15% of RFIs are already answered in previous RFI responses or your project documents. TrunkRFI identifies these duplicate and unnecessary RFIs and surfaces an answer with source links. When you determine an RFI is necessary, the agent drafts it for you, attaching all relevant documentation, and writes it back to your PMS (Procore or Autodesk Forma). Sign up for the waitlist here.
(3) TrunkBid (In Beta): Rather than spending 4–8 hours per trade package analyzing trade partner bids, TrunkBid will extract info from scope of work documents and trade partner bids to surface scope gaps, exclusions, and alternates. It suggests follow-up questions for each trade partner and sets your estimating team up to complete the leveling process with an export to Excel or CSV file.
Upcoming Events
