Troubleshooting Sign-In Issues

Can't get into Trunk Tools? Check your email, your sign-in code, and your company's SSO settings.

Troubleshooting Sign-In Issues

Can't get into Trunk Tools? Most sign-in problems come down to one of a few things: signing in with the wrong email, a sign-in code that didn't arrive, or your company's SSO settings. Work through the checks below, and you'll usually be back in within a few minutes.

Who Can Do This

  • ✅ All roles — for your own account.

  • ✅ Business Admin — can also update your company's SSO settings (see Check 3).

Note: If your company signs in through SSO, some fixes need your IT team.

Check 1: Sign In With Your Work Email

Your projects are tied to the email address you were invited with. If you sign in with a phone number or a different email, you might not see your projects, or you might not get in at all.

  • Sign in with the work email your team invited you with.

  • Double-check the email for typos.

  • If your company uses SSO, use the work email your IT team manages.

Check 2: Didn't Get Your Sign-In Code?

If the code never shows up, try these in order:

  • Check your spam, junk, or quarantine folder.

  • Wait a couple of minutes, then request a new code.

  • Ask your IT team if emails from Trunk Tools are being blocked.

Check 3: Sent Back to the Start of Sign-In?

If you sign in through your company's SSO and keep landing back on the sign-in page, it's usually one of two things.

Your email domain isn't approved yet

Your company's SSO setup only lets in certain email domains (the part after the @). If yours isn't on the list, you'll be sent back to the start. You can either:

  • Sign in with an email on an approved domain, if you have one.

  • Ask a Business Admin to add your domain, using the steps below.

For Business Admins: add an email domain

  • Click your avatar in the bottom-left corner.

  • Select SSO/SCIM Management.

  • Open the SSO tab.

  • Click the 3-dot menu on your SSO setup, then Edit, then Proceed.

  • Under domain management, add the new domain.

Note: Adding a domain lets anyone on that domain sign in, so it's a security setting. Trunk Tools Support can make this change for you, but only with your company's written approval.

Your account is turned off in your company's system

If your company manages accounts through SSO, your IT team controls who can get in. Trunk Tools can't switch your account back on from our side. Ask your IT team to:

  • Make sure your account is active and has access to the Trunk Tools app.

  • Re-send (re-provision) your account to Trunk Tools.

Note: If your company uses Microsoft Entra, IT can see why an account was skipped in the Provisioning Logs.

Check 4: Clear Your Browser and Try Again

  • Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then sign in again.

  • Or try a private window or a different browser.
