Which product is it related to?

WhatsApp Customer Engagement.

What is the feature?

An endpoint that will let our clients configure automated WhatsApp messages to start conversations and communicate effectively with their users.

What problem are we solving?

Companies didn’t have a way to start automated conversations with their users via WhatsApp.

Why is this useful?

This will let clients cover multiple use cases using WhatsApp flows:

  • Send alerts and notifications;

  • Send Customer Success surveys;

  • Send identity verification flows to know if users are who they say they are via WA;

  • Include images in the first message;

  • Send custom messages, eg. including the name of the user.

How to do it? How do I integrate?

  1. Define the message to start the conversation;

  2. Define the phone number from which they want to send the message.

Once the conversational flow is defined, clients will just have to make a call to our API and the first message will be sent to the users.

What happens if we don’t have this?

Clients won’t be able to start automated conversations, they would have to wait for the user to start it.
