Moderation Center

Updated over a month ago

Who this is for: People on your team who handle reports. If your title includes “moderator,” “admin,” or “trust & safety,” this one’s for you.

What it is: Your tidy inbox for all reported posts, comments, and messages—complete with context and one-click actions.

Getting in the door

  • Make sure your company has Moderation turned on in Settings → Features.

  • Your account needs Moderator access (ask your company admin if you’re not sure).

  • Where to find it: Settings → Moderation → Moderation Center.

A short story about “cases”

When people report the same piece of content, we bundle those reports into a single “case.” That way, you review once and make a decision once. Less whack-a-mole, more zen.

Statuses you’ll see:

  • Open: Needs attention.

  • Resolved: You’ve wrapped it up and everyone can get on with their day.

The case list (aka your queue)

  • Two tabs: Pending and Resolved. Start in Pending.

  • Columns you’ll care about:

    • Content Type: Post, comment, or message

    • Author: Who posted it (or “Content removed” if it’s gone)

    • Reports: How many times it was reported

    • First Reported: When the first report landed

    • Actions: Quick toggle to mark Resolved or set back to Pending

Click any row to open the full case.

Inside a case

  • Content preview: See the post/comment/message in context.

  • Reports: Grouped by reason (like spam or harassment) so patterns pop.

  • Action history: Who did what, and when. A simple timeline—no detective hat required.

Your tools

  • Resolve / Unresolve: Mark a case as done or bring it back if new info arrives.

  • Delete content: Removes the content for everyone. This is permanent. Use with care and, if prompted, leave a short note.

What the rest of the team might see

If a post or comment gets a lot of reports quickly, users may see a “heads up” banner with an option to “View anyway.” That’s a warning, not a verdict. Your decision in Moderation Center is what closes the loop.

Troubleshooting

  • I can’t see Moderation Center: Ask your admin to turn on Moderation in Features and give you Moderator access.

  • I can’t resolve a case: You may not have the right access, or the action failed. Try again or ping your admin.

  • I deleted something. Now what? The content is gone. Resolve the case when you’re satisfied.
