📋 Step-by-Step Porting Process
1. Contact Your New Provider
Reach out to the gaining carrier (your new fax service provider or EMR vendor) and request their LOA form.
Ask to speak with a live agent to make sure you receive the correct form.
Confirm what additional information they may need, such as a copy of a recent bill or whether a PIN or passcode is required.
2. Complete the LOA Form
Fill in the LOA with the exact information you verified with Updox.
Include the company name, address, BTN, and fax number(s) you want to port.
Ensure all fields are accurate and complete.
3. Sign the LOA
The LOA must be signed by an authorized user on your Updox account.
If you are unsure who is authorized, confirm with Updox Support.
4. Submit the LOA
Follow the gaining carrier’s instructions to submit the completed, signed LOA.
A live agent from the gaining carrier can confirm where and how to send the form (email, upload, or fax).
5. Wait for Confirmation
Your gaining carrier will coordinate with Updox to complete the port.
This process may take several business days.
