How to connect GoodwilFinds to Lister and best practices for listing, inventory and order fulfillment workflows

Overview

GoodwillFinds is an online marketplace for Goodwill organizations that offers products at a set price without the option for auctions.

This guide walks through how to configure default settings in Lister to use GoodwillFinds.

Lister GoodwillFinds Account Preparation

The following steps must be completed by an admin before creating GoodwillFinds listings or fulfilling GoodwillFinds orders in Lister.


Step 1: Confirm Existing Equipment is Compatible with Lister and Link

Verify you have the right operational equipment to use with Lister and Link. Details on our recommended equipment list are below.


Upright Lister

  • Confirm your existing equipment is compatible with Lister:

  • Verify Lister Connect is installed and working correctly on any computer that will be printing labels from Lister:

  • Conduct test prints on each workstation that will be printing labels in Lister:


Upright Link

  • Confirm any existing iOS devices used in your operation are compatible with Link:

  • Download and install Link on iOS Devices:

💡 Operational Tip: Verify your existing GoodwillFinds inventory and product barcode labels are scannable in Link! If the barcodes are too dark/blurry, they may not scan correctly.

Scan an inventory and SKU label that were printed in GoodwillFinds in Link and confirm the scan is registered. If the label is too blurry or damaged, it will need to be reprinted in Lister.

Step 2: Prepare Existing GoodwillFinds Data for Import to Lister

The import process of bringing existing listings from GoodwillFinds into Lister only imports Active and Listed items. No other statuses are imported. This means:

  • Products must have a listing on SFCC with a status of “Listed” and a B2C Product status of “Active”

    • Note: Products that have an SFCC status of Listed are, by default, “Active”

  • Minimize or eliminate all GoodwillFinds listings that are in the process of being listed

    • B2C Products with a status of “New” will not be imported

  • Important: Ensure all “Active” and “Listed” products on GoodwillFinds are located in and assigned to an inventory location within GoodwillFinds


Step 3: Connect GoodwillFinds to Lister

Next, connect your GoodwillFinds seller account to Lister. To begin, reach out to GoodwillFinds seller support to request your Access Token to connect to Upright Lister. From there:

  1. Click the gear icon in the top right navigation menu of Lister to go to the admin settings pages

  2. Click “GoodwillFinds” under the channels section of the left navigation menu

  3. Click the green “Link my account”

  4. Copy and paste your access key from GoodwillFinds into the popup box

  5. Click the blue “Link Account” button

    Click the "link my account" button in the Lister>Admin>GoodwillFinds settings page and paste in your access token from GoodwillFinds to connect your account.

Step 4: Configure Default GoodwillFinds Settings in Lister

Once your GoodwillFinds account is connected to Lister, review the default Lister settings. Click here to learn more about these settings.

Set up your default GoodwillFinds settings and click Save

Step 5: Configure GoodwillFinds Listing Strategies

Create new Listing Strategies for GoodwillFinds products. Click here to learn more about Listing Strategies.

Note: GoodwillFinds is not compatible with concurrent strategy steps!

Important Note: Do not edit existing Listing Strategies to add GoodwillFinds as a new channel option!

Doing so will require manually editing existing Products, adding GoodwillFinds listing details and may also lead to failed listings.

Instead, create new listing strategies to use moving forward for product categories that will be listed to GoodwillFinds.


Step 6: Create GoodwillFinds Order Picking Profiles

Next, create Picking Profiles for GoodwillFinds orders by following the steps below:

  1. Click the gear icon in the top right corner of Lister to navigate to the Admin Settings pages

  2. Click “Orders” in the left navigation menu

  3. Click the blue “New Picking Profile” button

    Create new picking profiles for GoodwillFinds items.

Single Items Orders

  1. Name: Name the profile “GWF Single items orders”

  2. Channel: Select “GoodwillFinds” only

    • Important: Do not select any other connected marketplaces!

  3. Order Type: Select "Single items only"

  4. Payment Status: Select "Paid" and "Partially Paid"

  5. Save: Click the green “Save” button at the bottom of the page

Multi Items Orders

  1. Name: Name the profile “GWF Multi items orders”

  2. Channel: Select “GoodwillFinds” only

    • Important: Do not select any other connected marketplaces!

  3. Order Type: Select "Single items only"

  4. Payment Status: Select "Paid" and "Partially Paid"

  5. Save: Click the green “Save” button at the bottom of the page

Local Pickup Orders

  1. Name: Name the profile “GWF Local Pickup orders”

  2. Channel: Select “GoodwillFinds” only

    • Important: Do not select any other connected marketplaces!

  3. Order Type: Select "Any"

  4. Payment Status: Select "Paid" and "Partially Paid"

  5. Shipping Method: Select "Pickup" only

  6. Save: Click the green “Save” button at the bottom of the page

GoodwillFinds Listing Workflow

Unlike other marketplaces, GoodwillFinds listings have scheduled times when new listings are published to the marketplace. In practice, this means that once a listing is completed in Lister, there may be a delay before the public listing is viewable on the marketplace.

When adding item details to a GoodwillFinds listing, ensure the following criteria are completed:

💡Operational Tip: As GoodwillFinds has scheduled listings, edits to active listings within Lister will update on GoodwillFinds on the same schedule as when new listings are published.
