Our Bulk CSV Import is a great tool which let's you bulk update and add customers into myne. The CSV import is a great way to create new records, update existing records and trigger automations.

How to Setup your import

At minimum you will need to fill out first name, last name and email to create a customer record or update an existing record. NULL values do not overwrite existing data.

Required (normal imports)

  • First name — e.g. first_name, First Name, first

  • Email and/or phone — e.g. email, E-Mail, mobile, phone

Optional profile

  • Last name — e.g. last_name, surname

  • Birth date — e.g. birth_date, DOB, birthday

  • Postcode — e.g. postal_code, ZIP, postcode

Optional marketing opt-in (use true or false)

  • SMS — e.g. marketing_opt_in_sms, sms opt in

  • Email — e.g. marketing_opt_in_email, email opt in

  • Push — e.g. marketing_opt_in_push, push opt in

Optional loyalty (when your brand supports them)

  • Cashback / credit — e.g. credit, cashback, add_credit, Myne Cashback

  • Points — e.g. points, Myne Points, add_points, brand_points

Any other columns

Columns that don’t match the list above are not dropped. They are stored as extended customer data on the import record, using the exact header name from your file as the field name.

That data is available when you:

  • Build or filter customer groups on integration or custom fields from imports

  • Run automations that use customer extended data conditions

So you can keep bespoke columns (tier, store ID, notes, etc.) in the same CSV without renaming them to Myne’s standard fields.

Note: Membership-only imports (files named with .membership) only match existing customers to the group; they do not create profiles or save extended data from extra columns.

Updating existing groups

If you would like to bulk update an existing group. Use our import tool and use the same group name you would like to override. Please ensure the CSV file includes the entire list you want in the group once as the import will override the Group's existing memberships, not just add to it.

To rename or delete a customer group simply find it in myne under Customers and click into it. Once you are viewing the group hit the '3 dots' and choose rename or delete.

Deleting a group will not delete the customers imported, only the relationship to the group.

Automations

Creating a bulk CSV Import is a really easy way to create and update records within your integrated systems. These powerful automations can manage customer records across multiple platforms.

For example, customer groups in myne will be synced as individual tags in your connected apps such as your POS and Loyalty platforms. So let's say you have our Lightspeed and Marsello integrations turned on. If you import a list called "Staff" and you want to add that as a tag across both platforms. The file name will not only create/update a customer group in myne, it will also be converted to a tag in your integrated platforms and those customer records (new or existing) will be updated.

Helpful tips:

  • Editing a groups name in myne will update the tags in all connected apps (remove old and add new tag with new group name)

  • Deleting a group will remove the old tags from connected apps

  • Deleting a group does not delete the customer record in myne or connected apps.
