Pushing Twain messages from Clay to your CRM or outbound tool
Once you've generated personalized emails and LinkedIn messages with Twain inside Clay, you can push them to your CRM, outbound tool, or LinkedIn automation tool. Here's how.
Before you start: This assumes you already have a Twain agent, an active campaign, and the Twain: Generate Sequence integration set up in your Clay table. If you're new to Twain, see Getting Started with Twain Agents first.
1. Map custom fields
Open the Twain: Generate Sequence integration in Clay.
Under custom fields, map each message step and give it a clear name.
This makes the steps easy to find in your destination platform.
2. Add new steps if needed
For example, add a LinkedIn follow-up.
Map it to the appropriate custom field and save.
3. Export to your tools
The same process works across:
Smartlead
Lemlist
HeyReach
HubSpot or Apollo (custom fields are called "custom properties" there)
Add your signature if required and preview the messages.
4. Verify formatting
Always send a test before running a full campaign.
Make sure custom variables and formatting look right.
