How do I set up contact capture on my page?
On V1CE ClientCapture OS, Contact Capture (also called Exchange Contact) is a form that appears on your V1CE page when someone visits it. When they fill it in, their details are saved to the CRM section of your dashboard so you can follow up. Important: the form appears on your V1CE page, not on the phone's native Save Contact / vCard screen. Those are separate platform-built features and the V1CE form does not appear inside them.
How to set up Contact Capture on V1CE ClientCapture OS
To enable Contact Capture on your V1CE page:
Log in at app.v1ce.co
Go to Pages in your V1CE dashboard and open the page you want to add the form to
Click Edit page
Find the Contact Capture (or Exchange Contact) section
Toggle it on
Choose which fields to display (name, email, phone, company, job title, etc.)
Choose how the form appears, as a popup when the page opens, or as a button visitors press to leave their details
Save and publish
If you can't find the Contact Capture option, your V1CE software may not have the feature on your plan. Contact V1CE support.
Where the Contact Capture form actually appears
The V1CE Exchange Contact button is used from your page. It connects to the CRM section of your V1CE dashboard. It is not visible on the contact card on the recipient's phone because that screen is platform-dependent. Apple and Android each have their own contact-exchange features for their native software, which V1CE's button does not replace.
In practice this means: when someone taps your card, they land on your V1CE page. The Exchange Contact form lives on that page. They fill it in there. The captured contacts appear in your V1CE dashboard's CRM section.
What Contact Capture is
Contact Capture is a form on your V1CE page. When someone taps your card or scans your QR code, the form asks for their name, email, phone number, and any other fields you turn on. Their details are saved to your V1CE dashboard so you can follow up by email, schedule a meeting, or sync to your CRM.
Where do my captured contacts appear
Your captured contacts appear in the CRM section of your V1CE dashboard, not under Insights. From CRM you can:
View each captured contact with all the details they submitted.
Add notes and tags to organise your contacts.
Export contacts as a CSV file.
Sync contacts to your CRM via Zapier or direct integrations (see How do I use the V1CE CRM to manage my contacts?).
Can I customise which fields appear on the form
Yes, you can customise which fields appear on the Contact Capture form. In the form settings, toggle individual fields on or off. Common fields:
First name and last name.
Email address.
Phone number.
Company name.
Job title.
Custom message field.
What happens after someone submits the form
After someone submits your Contact Capture form:
Their details are saved to your CRM section instantly.
If you have a Welcome email set up, it sends on its own.
If you have a Smart follow-up set up, it queues to send at the time you configured.
If you have a CRM integration enabled, the contact syncs on its own.
For more on the difference between Welcome and Smart follow-up emails, see Can I customise the follow up email sent to contacts?
My Contact Capture form is not capturing contacts
If your Contact Capture form is not capturing contacts, check the following:
Make sure the form is toggled on in your page settings.
Make sure your page is published (not in draft).
Test it from a different browser or phone. Tap your card or scan the QR code as a visitor would, then submit the form.
Check the CRM section. Captured contacts appear there.
If it still isn't working, contact V1CE support with a screenshot of your page settings and the team will investigate.
If you are on legacy V1CE Plus, Pro, or Teams software
If your dashboard has a link switcher at the top, you are on the legacy V1CE software. The Contact Capture feature is configured on each link's page edit screen rather than under Pages. The captured contacts still appear in your dashboard's contacts area. If you can't find the option on the legacy software, contact V1CE support.
