Vantage has two types of assets: fixed and moving. They have different creation flows, different fields, and different relationships with addresses.
Fixed assets
A fixed asset represents a permanent location: a retail store, a warehouse, a billboard structure, an office building. Fixed assets require a linked address, which provides the street, city, country, and other location details.
When you link a fixed asset to an event, the asset's address carries over to the event automatically. Your field team sees the full location details on the event without anyone needing to enter them again.
Fixed assets have these fields: asset type, address (required), asset name, asset ID, access instructions, and phone.
Moving assets
A moving asset represents a vehicle or mobile unit: a delivery van, a trailer, a fleet truck. Moving assets do not have an address. Instead, they have a registration number field for the vehicle plate.
Moving assets have these fields: asset type, registration number, asset ID, and asset name.
How to choose
If the work happens at a fixed location, use a fixed asset. If the work is on a vehicle or something that moves between locations, use a moving asset. If the work is at a temporary location you do not need to track as an asset, use an address on its own.
The Asset and Address fields may not appear on all event types. This depends on how your workspace is set up.
