Opportunity status are the pipeline stages that show where each deal stands. Each opportunity moves through statuses as the deal progresses, and you can change the status at any time.
Default statuses
Vantage includes four default statuses for the opportunities:
Status | Description |
New | A newly created deal, not yet sent to the client. |
Sent | The proposal has been sent to the client for review. |
Won | The client has approved the deal. The opportunity can now be converted into a project. |
Lost | The deal did not go ahead. Lost opportunities are hidden from the board by default. |
Changing the status of an opportunity
There are two ways to change an opportunity's status.
From the board: Drag the opportunity card to a different column. The status updates immediately.
From the detail drawer: Open the opportunity, click the status label at the top of the Info tab, and select the new status from the dropdown.
Changing the status to Won triggers the conversion flow. A confirmation modal will appear asking whether to convert the opportunity to a project. If you are not ready to convert yet, do not move it to Won.
Customizing opportunity statuses
Opportunity statuses are customized by the Vantage team. If your default statuses do not match your sales process, let us know what statuses you need and we can configure them for your workspace.
