The Config tab on an opportunity is where you plan the project structure before the deal is won. Setting it up in advance means that when you convert the opportunity, the project and its events are created automatically, with no manual setup required.

Open any opportunity and click the Config tab. You will see three options for setting up the future project.
Configuration options
From scratch
Use this when the project does not fit a standard template.
Build the event list manually. Click + Add new potential event, select the event type (Install, Survey, Delivery, Production, Revisit, or Design), and set how many of each you need.
From a template
This is the recommended approach for standard projects.
Select a project type template and Vantage fills in the event types, project type, and default task list automatically. You can still edit the event list after selecting the template and before converting.
Link to an existing project
Use this when the project was created before the opportunity, or when the work has already started.
Connect the opportunity to a project that already exists in Vantage. Click the link field and search for the project by name.
