Every opportunity has an owner — the person responsible for the deal. You can also add a client contact to link the right person at the client company to the opportunity.
Setting the opportunity owner
The opportunity owner is set when you create the opportunity. It pre-fills with the logged-in user and can be changed at any time.
To change the owner, open the opportunity, go to the Info tab, and click the Opportunity owner field. Select any Full user in the workspace.
The owner receives a notification when the opportunity's status changes, unless they made the change themselves.
Adding a client contact
The client contact field links a specific person at the client company to the opportunity. This is useful for tracking who your point of contact is for the deal.
To add a client contact, open the opportunity, go to the Info tab, and click the Client contact field. The dropdown shows contacts already added to the client record. If the person is not listed, add them as a contact on the client record first.
Contacts are managed on the client record. Go to Clients, open the client drawer, and add the person on the Contacts tab before assigning them here.
