Building a cost estimate on an opportunity

How to fill in the cost breakdown on an opportunity to estimate the value of a deal.

The pricing breakdown on an opportunity lets you estimate the cost of a deal before it becomes a project. The total is calculated automatically as you fill in the fields.

Adding pricing to an opportunity

To add a pricing breakdown, open the opportunity and go to the Info tab. The pricing section is in the main content area, below the core fields.

Enter amounts in any of the following fields.

Field

What to include

Labor

Cost for your team to produce, install, or service the work.

The currency used in pricing fields is set in your workspace's localization settings and applies to all opportunities. It cannot be changed per opportunity.

FAQ

Does the pricing carry over when an opportunity is converted to a project?

Pricing does not carry over to the project. The breakdown stays on the opportunity record, and you can open it any time from the link on the project's Info tab.
