Requiring document acknowledgment

How to mark files as requiring acknowledgment.

Document acknowledgment lets you mark a file as requiring confirmation. The people assigned to the event must confirm they have read it before the job starts.

Use it for safety briefings, site access instructions, scope documents, or any file your team or vendors need to read.

Marking a file for acknowledgment

  1. Open the Docs tab of the event.

  2. Hover over the file and click the checkmark (✓) icon.

  3. Confirm in the prompt that appears.

The file now shows a pending acknowledgment status. Anyone assigned to the event sees a prompt to confirm they have read it.

Tracking acknowledgements

Hover over the People column on the file row to see who has acknowledged and who has not. Each entry shows the person's name and the date and time they confirmed.

Vendors can also acknowledge documents from the mobile app. See Documents your vendors need to acknowledge for the vendor-side experience.

FAQ

Does Vantage block the job from starting if a document has not been acknowledged?

No. Acknowledgment does not block work from starting; it is a tracking and accountability tool. Follow up directly with the person if acknowledgment is overdue.

Can I remove the acknowledgment requirement from a file?

No. Once a file is marked as needing acknowledgment, that cannot be undone. If you no longer need a sign-off, upload a new version of the file without the acknowledgment flag.

Who can mark a file for acknowledgment?

Admin and Standard users can mark files for acknowledgment. Restricted and Lite users cannot.
