1. What Holiday Mode is for
Holiday Mode is for temporary absences (travel, studio closure, production pause, etc.). It does not replace normal communication with support if you have open orders you cannot honour—plan ahead and use the contacts at the end of this article if something goes wrong.
2. Where to set it up
Sign in at https://pro.oblist.com.
Open your account menu (avatar and brand name, top-right on the main dashboard layout), then choose Account.
In the Account side navigation, click Holiday Mode (URL:
/dashboard/account/holiday-mode).
You can also reach Account from the same menu and then select Holiday Mode from the list alongside Brand Info, Billing, etc.
3. Two modes (exact names in the dashboard)
Pick one mode before choosing dates.
Keep Selling Mode
On-screen summary:
Recommended for vacations
Continue to receive orders
Return date visible to customers
Framed as avoiding loss of revenue while you are away
Use this when you are away but still want new orders, with buyers informed of when you will be back to normal lead times.
Pause Mode
On-screen summary:
Complete pause
Products taken offline
Automatic reactivation after your end date
No new orders during the period
Use this when you must stop new sales entirely until you return.
4. Dates, duration, and activation
After choosing a mode, open Select your vacation dates.
Set Start date and End date using the date pickers.
The end date must be at least one day after the start date.
The whole period cannot exceed 90 days (this limit applies to both modes—the old “up to 3 weeks” rule for Keep Selling is not what the form enforces today).
Activate immediately (toggle):
When on, holiday mode starts as soon as you confirm (for a start date of today).
When off, the page explains that holiday mode will activate automatically on the start date at midnight (scheduled mode).
Click Activate Holiday Mode or Schedule Holiday Mode, then confirm in the dialog. The dialog reminds you to have shipped all pending orders.
If you have no products yet, the page shows a notice and activation stays disabled until you have added products.
5. While Holiday Mode is on
Keep Selling Mode
Products stay available for purchase.
Customers see your return date (the platform stores/displays this for shoppers).
On the Products page, an information banner can remind you that stock synchronisation may be paused so manual stock changes are not overwritten while you are away—check your quantities when you are back.
Pause Mode
Products are taken offline for new orders until the end date (or until you end the mode early).
The Products page explains that listings may be set to draft on the shop side and reactivated automatically on your return date.
Orders and cut‑off
Ship or renegotiate open orders before you leave, especially in Pause Mode.
For made-to-order work, adjust lead times before activating so buyers are not promised impossible dates.
If an accepted order cannot be fulfilled in time, contact customer service as soon as possible: customer@oblist.com so the team can coordinate with the buyer. Cancellations or major changes may have commercial consequences depending on the case—do not rely on Holiday Mode alone to fix a late discovery.
6. Ending Holiday Mode
Situation | What you do |
Scheduled (not yet active) | Open Holiday Mode and use Cancel scheduled holiday mode, then confirm. |
Active | Open Holiday Mode and use End holiday mode early, then confirm. In Pause Mode, the confirmation explains that products go back online immediately. |
End date reached | The system is designed to turn Holiday Mode off automatically at the end of the period (daily scheduler). You do not have to log in only for that. |
There is no separate step like “delete the holiday period in a calendar field”—use the End or Cancel actions above.
7. Good practices
Plan dates early and align with production and shipping.
Tell Oblist if the absence affects commitments you made outside the self-serve flow—vendors@oblist.com.
Recheck inventory when you are back (especially after Keep Selling).
Prefer Keep Selling for short breaks where you still fulfil; prefer Pause when you truly cannot take new orders.
