Rejecting a paid order should be a last resort. Use Report a delay when the piece can still be delivered later; use Reject Items only when fulfilment is genuinely impossible.
General rule—no order lookup required
A seller asking whether rejection is still possible after 48 hours is asking about the Vendor Dashboard rule. Answer the rule directly: the normal window is 48 hours, but an eligible unshipped item can still be rejected later with stronger confirmation and possible consequences. Ask for an order number only if the seller wants the eligibility of one specific item investigated.
What can be rejected
A piece is rejectable only while it is:
unfulfilled;
not already refunded; and
not already shipped with a tracking number.
On a multi-item order, you can reject only the affected unshipped pieces. Items that already have tracking must be handled through the appropriate return/claim process, not rejection.
The 48-hour window
The first 48 hours after the order are the normal rejection window. Act as quickly as possible so the customer is not left waiting.
After 48 hours, the current dashboard can still allow a rejection for an eligible unshipped item, but it requires a stronger typed confirmation. A late rejection may lead to fees, performance review or account consequences under the Vendor Terms. The exact consequence is case-specific; do not rely on a generic penalty amount.
If the piece can still be fulfilled with a later date, use Report a delay instead.
Before rejecting
Verify the actual inventory and selected variant.
Check the Shipping card. If The Oblist is arranging or funding the transport, do not reject merely because shipping looks complex.
If a prepaid label or active integrated/Arta shipment exists, continue in Vendor Dashboard chat first so it can be cancelled safely.
Check any fee or Featured commitment warning displayed for the selected piece.
How to reject from the Vendor Dashboard
Open Orders and select the product order.
Choose Reject Items.
Select only the pieces you cannot fulfil.
Choose whether to Restock items or Don't restock so inventory reflects reality.
Select the true rejection reason and add details when requested.
Read and acknowledge any displayed commitment fee or warning.
Confirm. After 48 hours, complete the additional typed confirmation.
A successful Vendor Dashboard rejection initiates the customer refund automatically. The Oblist manages the customer communication.
Do not use your Shopify refund as a substitute
Refunding or cancelling the copied order in your own Shopify does not automatically refund the customer on The Oblist and does not change The Oblist accounting. It only sends a signal for team review.
For the actual customer decision, use Reject Items in the Vendor Dashboard or continue in its chat.
What happens after rejection
the selected pieces are marked/refunded according to the completed action;
inventory follows the restock choice;
linked payouts/invoices may be recalculated;
The Oblist may open a follow-up request about the cause and prevention;
repeated or late rejections can affect seller performance and account status.
If the action fails, do not repeat refunds in Shopify. Continue in the current Vendor Dashboard chat with the order number, selected piece, reason and screenshot.
