When to use it
A made-to-order or in-stock piece will ship later than its committed date.
It applies only to pieces not yet shipped (no tracking, not refunded).
How to report it
Open the order in your dashboard.
Click Report a delay (it becomes Update delay once one is set).
Pick the piece, set a new maximum ship date, and choose a reason (or
write a short note).
Submit.
What happens next
Our Customer Care team is notified and reviews it.
We then send the collector a warm, reassuring update with the revised date — in The Oblist's voice. You're never in direct contact with the collector, and we never mention cancelling or refunding.
The revised date also shows in the collector's portal, so their expectations match reality.
Changing the date again
Reported a delay and need to move it? Open the order again — the button now reads Update delay. Set a new date and reason; it replaces the previous proposal for our team to confirm.
Good to know
A reported delay is the honest, professional move and is far better received than silence. It also helps us keep the piece off the "late" radar appropriately.
For our records, our team logs delays against your account — this is normal track-keeping, not a penalty by itself.
Where to find it
The Report a delay / Update delay button is on the order page (not in After-sales), on the pieces that haven't shipped yet.
