How to Create and Publish a Listing on Vidle Housing

If you're already registered as a host, you can create and publish your property directly from your Vidle Housing Host Dashboard.

The more complete and accurate your listing is, the easier it is for travelers to understand your property and decide whether it's the right fit for their stay. Follow the steps below to create and publish your listing.

Access Your Host Dashboard

Go to the Vidle Housing website and click Sign In. Once logged in, select My Listings from the left-hand navigation menu.

From here, you can view and manage all of your active and draft listings.

Start Creating a Listing

In the top-right corner of the My Listings page, click Create a Listing. You'll then be directed to the listing setup page, where you can begin adding your property information.

Step 1: Property Details

Start by providing the basic details and descriptions for your property.

Room Type

Select the option that best describes what travelers will be booking:

  • Entire place

  • Private room

  • Hotel room

Property Type

Select your property type:

  • Apartment

  • Condo

  • House

  • Hotel

  • Townhouse

Internal Name

Your Internal Name is for your reference only and is not shown publicly to travelers.

Examples include:

  • 1234 Main Street

  • Apartment 2B

  • Denver Property #3

Using a clear internal name can make it easier to identify and manage your properties, especially if you have multiple listings.

External Name

Your External Name is the public display name travelers will see when viewing your property.

Choose a name that clearly represents your property and helps travelers easily identify the listing.

Listing Title

Create a clear and appealing title that highlights the property's best features.

For example:

Cozy One-Bedroom Townhome in the Heart of the City

Consider highlighting features travelers commonly search for, such as proximity to hospitals, furnished accommodations, pet-friendly options, parking, or in-unit laundry.

Listing Description

Provide a detailed overview of your property and what travelers can expect during their stay. Consider including information about:

  • The overall style and feel of the property

  • Furnishings

  • Kitchen features

  • Laundry

  • Parking

  • Outdoor areas

  • Workspace

  • Nearby hospitals, employers, or attractions

  • Any unique features of the home

Your description should be accurate and should not include personal contact information or instructions to communicate or book outside of Vidle Housing.

Space Description

Use this section to explain the layout of the property and provide additional details about the space.

You may want to include:

  • Floor plan or general layout

  • Bedroom locations

  • Number of floors

  • Stairs or accessibility considerations

  • Shared versus private spaces

  • Outdoor spaces

  • Additional features travelers should know about

Access Description

Explain any helpful information about accessing the property or surrounding area.

This may include general directions, nearby major roads, landmarks, public transportation, parking information, or building access details.

For security, do not include sensitive check-in information such as door codes, lockbox combinations, or specific key locations in the public listing description.

Step 2: Bedrooms, Beds, Bathrooms, and Guest Count

Enter the correct number of:

  • Bedrooms

  • Beds

  • Bathrooms

  • Maximum guests allowed

Make sure this information accurately reflects the property travelers will receive. Accurate sleeping arrangements and occupancy information help travelers determine whether the property fits their needs.

Step 3: Media

Upload up to 25 high-quality photos that accurately represent your property.

For the best results, include photos of:

  • Exterior of the property

  • Living room

  • Kitchen

  • Each bedroom

  • Each bathroom

  • Laundry area

  • Workspace, if available

  • Outdoor areas

  • Parking, when helpful

  • Building amenities, if applicable

Use clear, well-lit, recent photos and avoid uploading duplicate, blurry, heavily edited, or misleading images.

Your first photo is especially important because it may be the first image travelers see when browsing available properties.

Video Walkthrough

You can also add a video walkthrough of your property to help travelers better picture the space and understand the property's layout before booking.

A video walkthrough can be especially helpful for showing:

  • How rooms connect to one another

  • The overall size and flow of the property

  • Unique property features

  • Outdoor spaces

  • Building amenities

For the best experience, make sure your video is clear, current, and accurately represents the property being offered.

All photos and videos must accurately represent the property. Listings containing media copied from unrelated properties or that do not accurately represent the listing may be reviewed or removed for safety and fraud prevention.

Step 4: Pricing

Set your pricing for a 30-day stay, along with any applicable fees, such as:

  • Cleaning fee

  • Pet fee

Vidle Housing specializes in mid-term stays with a minimum stay of 30 days, so make sure your pricing accurately reflects the monthly rate you're willing to accept.

Pricing Calculator

Vidle Housing offers a Pricing Calculator to help you determine a suggested monthly rate for your property.

Many traveling healthcare professionals receive a housing stipend as part of their assignment compensation. The Pricing Calculator provides a suggested rate to help you consider pricing that may be competitive for travelers searching in your area.

The suggested rate is a recommendation only. You remain in control of your listing price and can choose the monthly rate that works best for your property.

Pricing for Synced Listings

If your listing is synced through a PMS or another platform, pricing may be imported automatically. For example, a nightly rate may be multiplied by 30 to calculate an estimated monthly price.

If this does not accurately reflect your desired monthly rate, you can set your own price on Vidle Housing and use Sync Settings to lock pricing so future syncs do not overwrite it.

Keeping your pricing accurate is important. Pricing discrepancies can lead to traveler frustration, declined reservations, and missed booking opportunities.

Security Deposits & Additional Payments

Vidle Housing does not currently support security deposits directly through the platform.

If you require additional payments, you may submit Money Requests through the reservation for up to $150 at a time and up to $1,000 total per reservation.

Per the Vidle Housing Terms & Conditions, any additional payment requirements, lease agreements, or fees must be clearly disclosed in your House Rules or Additional Rules section prior to booking.

Requests for payment outside of the Vidle Housing platform are strictly prohibited.

Step 5: Amenities and Tags

Select all amenities and features that accurately apply to your property.

Common amenities travelers may look for include:

  • Reliable Wi-Fi

  • In-unit or on-site laundry

  • Fully equipped kitchen

  • Dedicated workspace

  • Parking

  • Air conditioning

  • Heating

  • Pet-friendly accommodations

  • Cleaning supplies

  • Linens and towels

Traveling healthcare professionals often stay for several weeks or months at a time, so practical amenities that make a property comfortable for an extended stay can be especially valuable.

Only select amenities that are actually available to guests.

Step 6: Location

Enter the property's complete and accurate address, including:

  • Street address

  • Unit number, if applicable

  • City

  • State

  • ZIP code

The exact property address is not publicly displayed to travelers before a reservation is confirmed. However, accurate location information is necessary to help travelers find relevant listings during their search and understand the property's general location.

Important: Always enter the property's actual address. Incorrect or mismatched addresses may result in the listing being reviewed or removed.

Provide important information about your property's occupancy rules, guest expectations, and check-in and check-out process.

Occupancy Limit

Enter the maximum number of guests allowed to stay at the property.

House Rules

You'll be able to select the house rules that apply to your property, including:

  • Smoking allowed

  • Pets allowed

  • Parties allowed

  • Children allowed

If a box is checked, that activity or option is allowed at the property. If a box is not checked, it means it is not allowed.

Make sure your selections accurately reflect your property's rules so travelers clearly understand what is and isn't permitted before booking.

Additional Rules

Use the Additional Rules section to include any other requirements travelers should know before booking, such as:

  • Quiet hours

  • Parking restrictions

  • Visitor policies

  • Building or HOA requirements

  • Additional fees

  • Lease requirements

  • Other property-specific policies

Any additional payment requirements, lease agreements, or fees must be disclosed here before a reservation is booked.

Check-In and Check-Out Times

You must select both a check-in time and a check-out time before you can continue with your listing setup.

Choose times that accurately reflect when your property will be ready for arrival and when travelers are expected to leave at the end of their stay.

Provide detailed instructions travelers will need to successfully access the property.

Check-in information may include:

  • Parking instructions

  • Building access

  • Key or lockbox instructions

  • Door codes

  • Unit location

  • Special arrival directions

  • Any other information necessary to enter the property

Check-in instructions are provided to the traveler before arrival, so it's important to keep this information complete and current.

For confirmed reservations, hosts should review their check-in instructions before the traveler's arrival to make sure all access details are accurate.

Review and Publish Your Listing

Before publishing, carefully review your entire listing and confirm that:

  • Property details are accurate

  • Photos and videos represent the actual property

  • Bedroom and bathroom counts are correct

  • Monthly pricing and fees are current

  • Amenities are accurate

  • The property address is correct

  • House rules and additional requirements are clearly disclosed

  • Check-in and check-out times are selected

  • Check-in instructions are included and up to date

  • Your availability is current
