Connecting Your Brother Label Printer to Your iPad Kiosk via WiFi

✅ We suggest using the Brother QL-820NWB for the best performance.

✅ Ensure you are using the Brother DK-11202 labels.

✅ For instructions on connecting your Brother printer to your office WiFi, please refer to your hardware setup guides.

Before You Begin

  • Apple iPads require permission to discover devices on the network (WiFi or Bluetooth).

  • When prompted, tap "Allow Always" to enable printer discovery.

Steps to Connect the Printer

1️⃣ Disable Template Mode

  • On the printer, press [Menu] → Navigate to Template SettingsTemplate Mode: Off.

  • Use the [▲] and [▼] buttons to select, then press [OK].

2️⃣ Open the VMC App & Log In

  • Launch the VMC iPad App.

  • Log in using your administrator username and password.

3️⃣ Select the Printer

  • Navigate to "Settings" > "Printer" under "NETWORK PRINTER (WiFi & Ethernet)".

4️⃣ Search for Available Printers

  • The iPad will scan the network for available printers.

  • This may take a few moments—please wait.

5️⃣ Select Your Printer

  • A list of detected printers will appear.

  • Tap on the printer you wish to connect to.

If the printer is not found:

  • Retry the search or use Manual Setup.

  • For Manual Setup, enter the printer's IP address and select the printer model.

6️⃣ Confirm Connection

  • The selected printer will appear at the top of the Printer settings.

  • The printer’s network IP address will be displayed below it.

7️⃣ Run a Print Test

  • Send a test print from the VMC dashboard to confirm the connection.

  • If successful, the print job will go from the dashboard → iPad → printer.

8️⃣ Complete a Test Sign-In

  • If badge printing is enabled in your Kiosk Design settings, the printer will automatically print visitor badges when guests sign in.

  • Perform a test sign-in to verify that badge printing works as expected.

Troubleshooting & Additional Notes

  • Badge printing must be enabled in the VMC dashboard for sign-in printing to work.

  • Refer to the help article on how to enable badge printing for visitor check-ins.
