Steps for connecting your Brother QL-820NWB Printer to your network

Connect Printer to Network via WIFI

  1. Press the [Menu] button to view the main menu.

  2. Navigate to WLAN by using the [▲] and [▼] buttons to scroll and press the [OK] button.

  3. Use the [▲] and [▼] buttons to scroll and select WLAN (On/Off) > On in the settings menu. Press [OK].

  4. Use the [▲] and [▼] buttons to select WLAN > Infra Manual Setting in your settings menu. Click [OK]. The printer will then search for available Wi-Fi networks.

  5. Note: Your printer and iPad will need to be on the same SSID Wireless network.

  6. Using the [▲] and [▼] buttons, select your desired network and then click OK.

  7. Input your password following these steps:

    Looking at the top right of the screen, you can click [Menu] to change between inputting uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.

    Then use the [▲] and [▼] buttons to select the correct characters.

  8. If it has successfully connected, it will read “Connected!” Then press [OK]. If it reads that it did not connect, continue to repeat steps 4 through 7 until successful.

  9. To return to the main screen, click the [↩] button. You should then see the Wi-Fi icon in the top right-hand corner.

Connect Printer to Network via Ethernet

  1. Turn off WiFi:

    1. Press the [Menu] button to view the main menu

    2. Navigate to WLAN by using the [▲] and [▼] buttons to scroll and press the [OK] button.

    3. Use the [▲] and [▼] buttons to scroll and select WLAN (On/Off) > Off in the settings menu. Press [OK]. Note: Your printer and iPad will need to be on the same network.

  2. Turn off the Printer before connecting the Ethernet cable

  3. Connect the Ethernet cable to an active LAN Port on the network

  4. Turn the Printer on

NOTE: We recommend setting up static IP addresses for your printers.

Connect Printer Directly to iPad

  1. Ensure the iPad is connected to the same network as the printer by navigating to the Settings app on your iPad and selecting WIFI from the menu on the left.

  2. If your iPad is connected to the same network as your Brother printer, open the Visitu Kiosk app and click on the Settings icon located at the top right corner of the screen in Kiosk Mode.

  3. Select Settings from the sidebar menu

  4. Select Printer Configuration from the menu

  5. Visitu Kiosk will search for printers that are connected to the same network as the iPad.

  6. The printer that you previously connected should appear on this menu once the app is done searching. The printer's IP address should appear next to the name.

  7. Press the name of the printer you'd like to connect to the iPad.

  8. You may now test the connection between the iPad and the printer by pressing the name of the printer and tapping the Test Print button.

  9. If you have printed successfully, the iPad is connected and ready to print.
