Printer Setup

Adding a Printer:

Visitu utilizes the Brother QL-820NWB Printer, a compact and versatile device supporting WIFI, Bluetooth, or Ethernet connectivity for badge printing on various label types.

Initial Setup:

  1. Plug the AC Adapter into the Printer and the AC Power Cord.

  2. Connect the AC Power Cord to an AC power outlet.

  3. Set Language and Clock Settings:

    • Press the Menu button on the printer.

    • Scroll and select "Settings" using [▲] and [▼] buttons, then press [OK].

    • Choose "Set Clock" and press [OK].

    • Set the current year, month, and day using [▲] and [▼], and select with [OK].

    • Set the time using [▲] and [▼], and select with [OK].

  4. Disable Auto Power Off

    • Press Menu

    • Scroll and select "Settings" using [▲] and [▼] buttons, then press [OK].

    • Select Auto Power Off

    • Select Adapter

    • Using [▲] and [▼] buttons, set to Off and press [OK]

  5. Enable Automatic Re-connection

    • Scroll and select "Bluetooth" using [▲] and [▼] buttons, then press [OK].

    • Using [▲] and [▼] select Automatic Re-connection and press OK.

    • Set to ON and press OK.

Connection:

The printer supports WIFI, Bluetooth, and Ethernet. For optimal flexibility, WIFI is recommended. Ensure the printer and iPad are on the same network.

  1. WIFI Setup:

    • Press [Menu], navigate to WLAN, and select WLAN (On/Off) > On.

    • Choose WLAN > Infra Manual Setting and select your Wi-Fi network.

    • Input the password following on-screen prompts.

    • Once connected, the Wi-Fi icon appears in the top right.

  2. Bluetooth Setup:

    • Press [Menu], select Bluetooth > Bluetooth (On/Off) > On.

    • Choose Bluetooth > Automatic Reconnection > On.

    • The Bluetooth symbol will appear in the top right.

  3. Ethernet Setup:

    • Turn off Wi-Fi by selecting WLAN (On/Off) > Off.

    • Connect the Ethernet cable to an active LAN Port.

    • Turn on the printer.

Connecting to iPad:

  1. Ensure the iPad is on the same network:

    • Go to iPad Settings > WIFI.

  2. Open Visitu Kiosk app, click Settings > Printer Configuration.

  3. Visitu Kiosk will search for printers on the network.

  4. Connect to your printer; the IP address should display.

  5. Test the connection using the Test Print button.

Troubleshooting Printer Connection:

If issues persist:

  • Reset Printer to Factory Settings:

    • On the printer, select "Administration" > "Reset" > "Factory Reset" > "Reset."
