To start creating Sustainable Programmes, you will be required to enable Data Sources first. Data Sources enables the collection of disclosed Sustainable data about your suppliers in Vizibl. Two examples of Data Sources available in Vizibl are:

  • CDP

  • SBT

Each of those Data Sets have different Sustainable indicators focusing on specific aspects of Sustainability.

CDP

A CDP score is a snapshot of a company’s environmental disclosure and performance.

Those scores are based on one or more of the climate change, forestry and water security questionnaires to the suppliers. According to the information disclosed by the suppliers, scores are created to understand the trajectory of their environmental journey. Those scores operate in line with a 1.5-degree, deforestation-free and water-secure future.

Example available criteria are as follows:

  • CDP Climate Change

  • CDP Water Security

  • Forestry-Timber

  • Forestry-Soy

  • Forestry-Cattle Products

  • Forestry-Palm Oil

Those criteria are assessed via the dedicated questionnaire provided by CDP and they will be scored across four consecutive levels:

  • Disclosure (D-/D score): Every question in the questionnaires is scored for disclosure. At the disclosure level, companies are awarded roughly one point per data point provided. This level features both D and D- scores. To score a D over a D- organizations need to have disclosed a more extensive set of information. However, a D-/D score is just the starting point for organizations that want to demonstrate that they have begun their environmental journey.

  • Awareness (C-/C score): A C-/C score indicates awareness-level engagement. Awareness also has C and C- scores, with the differentiator being the level of awareness a company has shown in their response. The awareness score measures the comprehensiveness of a company’s evaluation of how environmental issues intersect with its business, and how its operations affect people and ecosystems.

  • Management (B-/B score): A B score indicates environmental management. Companies that score a B have addressed the environmental impacts of their business and ensure good environmental management. A B- score indicates that a company is showing some evidence of managing its environmental impact but is not undertaking actions that mark it out as a leader in its field.

  • Leadership (A score): To earn an A score from CDP, organizations must show environmental leadership, disclosing action on climate change, deforestation or water security. They must demonstrate best practice in strategy and action as recognized by Data Sources such as the TCFD, Accountability Data Source and others. As well as having high scores in all other levels these companies will have undertaken actions such as setting science-based targets, creating a climate transition plan, developing water-related risk assessment strategies, or reporting on deforestation impact for all relevant operations, supply chains and commodities.

SBT

A science-based target (SBT) is a corporate sustainability, climate, or greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction goal that meets three criteria:

  1. It has a clearly defined emissions reduction pathway

  2. It has a defined baseline amount and year, as well as target goal date (i.e., reduce absolute GHG by 50% by 2030)

  3. It's set in line with the latest climate science necessary to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement: limiting global warming to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and pursuing efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C

For SBT there are 6 criteria available to you:

  • Committed

  • 2°C

  • Well Below 2°C

  • 1.5°C

  • Net Zero

  • Reporting on SBT

Custom Data Source

In addition to the Data Sources available, you will be able to create your programme based on your own Data Source using Custom Data Sources forms.

Custom Data Source will allow you to create your own reports by creating questionnaires that can be shared with your suppliers with questions relevant to your business and your sustainable areas of engagement. By including your own sustainable objectives, you can measure the Sustainable journey of your suppliers directly in connection with your sustainable goals and objectives. You can create as many Custom Data Sources as you require with as many detailed questions as you need to assess the different sustainable journeys and results of your suppliers.

With the custom Data Sources, you can assess the answers of your suppliers by rating their answers and adding comments for any question you require further input from your supplier. Once assessed, Vizibl will issue the scoring against the total submission of the report.

Whilst the standard Data Sources such as CDP and SBT are annual reports, the Custom Data Source reports can be scheduled periodically so you can proactively follow the progress of your suppliers on their Sustainable journey following your own timeframe.

How to create a Custom Data Source

  1. Go to the Supplier Sustainability Module and click on ‘Data Source’

  2. Click on ‘Add New’

  1. Three key areas are available to you:

    1. Area A: the General Information of this Custom Data Source

    2. Area B: the type of questions you can add in the report of your Custom Data Source

    3. Area C: the body of your report

Area A: you will be able to provide a title for the Custom Data Source, a description of the Custom Data Source, an icon, and customized Statuses.

Setting up custom statuses will allow you to tailor the review process of the report submission to follow your internal processes. The report will go through the following cycle: Pending State, Submitted State, Review State, and then Closed States.

For each of those States, you can configure tailed statuses to mirror your internal review process. You can associate a color with each status as well.

By default, a status per state is already set up in the Vizibl. To amend this default configuration or add additional statuses you can proceed following this process:

    1. Click on ‘Configure Statuses’

    2. A popup window will appear. You can see each status associated to the different states of the report. You can amend any existing status text and the colour associated to it by using the colour dropdown.
You can add any new status or delete any existing status except the mandatory statuses.

    3. Once you have configured the statuses click on ‘save changes’.

Area B: In this specific area you can select the fields that are required for the report of your Custom Data Source. You can have one section per criteria and several questions can be included for each criterion. By doing so, you will be able to ask several questions about the same criteria or sustainable aspect you wish to assess and the report will be able to approach several criteria.

How to create the content of your Custom Data Source Report

Drag the field you want to add on the form to the location it needs to appear

Once added, click on the pencil button on its right side to configure that field with the text that needs to appear, for example, a text or numeric question, or a multiple choice question.

Once you have set up the question click on the green tick to save it. You can add as many questions as you require. You can add as many criteria as required to match all the criteria you need to assess for this Custom Data Source by clicking on ‘Add New Criteria’.

You can see a Preview of your Report at any time by clicking on the button ‘Preview Form’ in the top right corner of the form builder. It will allow you to see the form as it would appear to your supplier who will be completing it. When the form fits your expectations you can click on ‘Publish’.

Useful information

  • You can remove any field by the bin button on the right side.

  • The questions can be reordered within the same section by clicking on the question and dragging it to the required position. A field can also be moved to a different criteria.

  • You can save the Report as a draft if you are not able to finish its creation and revisit it prior to publishing it. It will appear in the list of the Data Sources as Inactive and the mention ’Draft’ will be automatically added next to its name. Once the Report has been published, the ‘Draft’ mention will disappear.

  • When the Report has been published the Custom Data Source will be shown as Inactive until enabled
