Whether you have made your choice between several programs, changed your mind, or need to cancel your plans, you are free to cancel your application. If you paid your deposit, you can reuse it for another program with the Flex-Option. After canceling, you have two options: applying for a new program with your deposit or holding it for future use, both within a 12-month period.
To avoid any misunderstandings and keep the host organizations informed of your plans, here's how to cancel your application in a few clicks: Canceling your application promptly is courteous and helps others. By doing so, you allow the project coordinator to offer your spot to another volunteer, ensuring smooth project operations. It also prevents unnecessary follow-ups or communications from the coordination team. Furthermore, if you plan to apply for a different program, canceling your current application ensures your deposit can be transferred to the new application.
If you don’t cancel your application promptly, there are typically no immediate consequences. However, it is still good practice to inform the project coordinator so they can offer your place to someone else. This helps maintain operational efficiency and shows professionalism in your interactions with volunteering projects.
