Understanding the Goal Review System

Written by Gina

Before you entered the VRTO app for the first time, you passed through the Goal Review System. This is where your personalised plan was confirmed — and it's important to understand what happened there, because it shapes everything you see in the app.

What happened in your on-boarding quiz

VRTO's on-boarding quiz captured five things about you:

  • Your physique goal — CUT (fat loss), BUILD (muscle gain), or MAINTAIN

  • Your training focus — what you most want to improve (fat loss, muscle gain, strength, fitness) you can select either 1 or 2 goals to focus on.

  • Your goal tempo — how quickly you want to see results

  • Your training experience, schedule, constraints, and preferences

  • Your nutrition constraints and preferences (dietary requirements, approach to eating)

These inputs fed VRTO's program recommendation engine, which scored every program in the catalogue against your profile and surfaced three options best matched to you.

ℹ️ Your physique goal and training focus do different jobs. Your physique goal primarily drives your calorie direction (deficit, surplus, or maintenance). Your training focus drives which programs are recommended. They overlap but they're not the same thing.

What happens when your goals change

The Goal Review System reappears whenever a major change is needed — when you complete a program, when a check-in signals your goal is no longer relevant, when you decide to change phase, or at the 90-day quarterly review.

This is called the Goal Review System (GRS), and it's the only place in VRTO where strategic changes to your plan are made. Nothing changes automatically — you confirm everything before it takes effect.

💡 You can trigger a Goal Review any time from My Goal. You don't have to wait for a program to finish or a check-in to prompt it.
