Enabling Multi-Language Options on the Kiosk Portal

How to enable multiple language display options on your Kiosk

Written by Lucas Vander Meulen

Overview

The Kiosk Portal supports multi-language display, allowing users to interact with the kiosk in their preferred language. This is achieved by enabling the Languages as Start Buttons feature, which presents a language selection button for each configured language on the kiosk start screen. This article outlines the steps required to configure and enable this feature.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the Kiosk URL

  • Kiosk administrator code (required to access the settings menu)

  • Knowledge of which languages are required at the location

The following languages are currently supported in the Languages as Start Buttons feature:

Configuration Steps

Step 1: Access the Kiosk Settings Menu

  1. Open the Kiosk URL in your browser.

  2. Navigate to the hamburger menu (☰) located in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

  3. Re-enter the kiosk code when prompted to unlock the settings menu.

Note: The kiosk code is required each time the settings menu is accessed. Contact your system administrator if you do not have this code.

Step 2: Configure Languages as Start Buttons

  1. Within the Options menu, locate the Languages as Start Buttons setting.

  2. Left-click the setting to open a new window displaying all available language options.

  3. Select the checkbox(es) next to each language you wish to enable at this kiosk.

  4. Click OK to confirm and save your selections.

Note: You may select multiple languages. Each selected language will display as a separate start button on the kiosk home screen, labeled in that language (e.g., "START" for English, "DÉBUT" for French).

Step 3: Apply and Verify Changes

  1. Click Close in the top right corner of the Options menu to apply your changes.

  2. The kiosk home screen should now display a separate start button for each selected language.

  3. Test each language button to confirm it routes users through the kiosk flow in the correct language.
