Surcharges let you charge more at busy times, like weekends, holidays or early mornings. Walkies adds them to new bookings that match.
Add a surcharge
From Home, tap the menu button in the top right.
Scroll down and tap Surcharges. On iPad, it's in the sidebar under Company.
Tap the + button.
Give it a name, like "Weekend".
Choose Fixed amount or Percentage, and add the amount.
Choose when it applies (see below). For a weekend surcharge, tap Days this applies to, choose Saturday and Sunday, and tap the ✓.
Tap the ✓ to save.
When it applies
Leave everything as it is and the surcharge applies to every booking. Each limit you set narrows it down, and all of them have to match:
Only on certain dates: a single date or a date range. Turn on Repeats every year for holidays.
Only at certain times: bookings that start between two times, like early mornings.
Days, Services, Pet types, Clients and Pets it applies to.
Turn off Automatically apply to stop a surcharge being added to new bookings by itself, without deleting it. It's marked Manual in your list, and you can still add it by hand.
How it's charged
A fixed amount is added once per booking. For stays charged per day or per night, it's added for each matching day or night.
If you limit it to certain pet types, pets or clients, a fixed amount is added for each matching pet.
A percentage is of the matching services, including extra pet prices and add-ons, but not travel, tips or discounts.
It shows as its own line on the appointment and the invoice. You can also add or remove one by hand there, add it more than once, or add a one-off surcharge. See How do I add a surcharge to an appointment or invoice?
Changing or deleting a surcharge doesn't change bookings you've already made.
