Here's how to have clients pay by card when they request a booking in the Walkies Journal app. The money is held when they book, and only taken when you accept.
Turn it on
Tap the menu button on Home. On iPad, it's in the sidebar.
Under Company, tap Client booking.
Turn on Require pay at booking.
Tap the ✓ to save.
What your client sees
Their booking button says Pay & request, with the price, an optional tip and any card fee. They're told the payment is held and only taken once you confirm.
When a paid request arrives
It's in Inbox > Requests, marked Pre-paid.
Accept it, and the payment is taken. A paid invoice is created for it, which you can refund later if you need to.
Decline it, and the hold is released, so your client isn't charged.
Its dates, pets and prices can't be changed, because that's what the client paid for.
If they booked several appointments in one go, accepting or declining one does the same for the rest.
What you need
Walkies Pay set up. Until it is, this screen tells you to set it up first. See How do I set up Walkies Pay?
Client booking turned on. See How do I let clients book with me?
Good to know
To add the card fee to your client's total instead of paying it yourself, turn on Customer pays processing fee on the same screen. For the fees, see What are the Walkies Pay fees?
For more on handling requests, see How do I accept or decline a booking request?
