Here's how to ask for a deposit on an invoice, so a client pays part up front, like for a holiday stay.
Add a deposit to an invoice
Tap Invoices and open the invoice.
Scroll down to Info and tap Deposit.
Enter the amount and tap the ✓ to save.
The Deposit due date shows underneath. Tap it to change when the deposit is due. To remove a deposit, set it to 0.
Add a deposit when you create an invoice
Create the invoice from Invoices > + > Invoice, as usual. See How do I add an invoice?
On Select deposit, turn on Include deposit.
Enter the Deposit amount, and check the Deposit due date.
Tap Next, check the invoice, and tap the ✓ to save.
Add a deposit to an appointment
On the appointment screen, under Invoice, set the Type to When booked or When started, then fill in Deposit. The deposit goes on the invoice the appointment creates.
Set a deposit for every invoice
In Menu > Invoices, set Deposit %. New invoices start with that percentage as the deposit, and Include deposit is turned on for you. Deposit due date offset sets how many days after the invoice is raised the deposit is due. Leave it blank to make deposits due with the invoice.
When it's paid
Clients paying with Walkies Pay see Pay deposit and Pay invoice buttons, and can pay the deposit first.
For other payment methods, record it from the invoice with Payment > Deposit payment. Your client gets a "Deposit paid" message. See How do I record a payment?
The invoice shows Deposit paid, Deposit unpaid or Deposit overdue.
Good to know
Automated invoices don't have deposits.
A deposit can't be more than 100% of the invoice.
