Here's how to correct a payment you recorded on an invoice, like the wrong amount, date or payment method. You can edit any payment that wasn't made with Walkies Pay.
Edit a payment
Tap Invoices and open the invoice.
Under Payments, tap the payment.
Tap Edit.
On Edit payment, change what you need: Regular or Deposit, the Amount being paid, the Date paid or the Payment method.
Tap the ✓ to save.
Amount remaining shows what the invoice would still owe without this payment, so you can check the new amount.
What happens to the invoice
If the payments now add up to the total, the invoice is marked paid, and your client is sent a message saying so.
If a paid invoice now has money left to pay, it goes back to Unpaid.
If it was paid and still is, it stays paid, with the date it was marked paid.
If the new amount is more than the invoice owes, Walkies asks if you'd like to add the extra as a tip. Tap Add with tip to keep it, or Cancel to change the amount.
If you lower a payment that had added a tip, that tip comes off again. A tip you added yourself stays.
Changing a payment to Deposit doesn't send your client a "Deposit paid" message.
In the web app
Open the invoice. Under Payments, click the pencil next to the payment, change what you need on Edit payment, and save it.
Payments you can't edit
Walkies Pay payments. Your client paid them by card, so to give money back, refund them. See How do I refund a payment?
Credit from a credit note. Remove the credit instead. See How do I give a client credit?
Payments that have been refunded.
Edit doesn't show for these.
Good to know
Edit replaces Change date. To change only the date, edit the payment and change Date paid.
To remove a payment, tap it and choose Delete.
Editing payments is on every Walkies plan. Only admins can see invoices, so team members can't edit payments.
