How to View and Manage Reservations

A comprehensive guide to viewing active stays, managing booking requests, and auditing detailed financial invoices within the Wander Sites dashboard.

The Reservations dashboard is your central hub for tracking all booking activity generated through your Wander Site. From managing "Request to Book" inquiries to auditing financial breakdowns, this section ensures you have full visibility into your guest pipeline.


Navigating the Reservations Dashboard

To manage your bookings, log in to app.wander.com and click Reservations in the left sidebar. The page is organized into five specialized tabs for quick navigation:

  • Active: Guests currently staying at your properties.

  • Upcoming: Confirmed future bookings.

  • Requests: Pending "Request to Book" submissions awaiting your approval.

  • Past: Completed stays.

  • Checkin Today: A focused view of guests arriving within the next 24 hours.


The Reservation Drawer: At-a-Glance Details

Clicking any reservation opens the Reservation Drawer, a side panel that provides a snapshot of the booking:

  • Guest: Name, email, and phone number.

  • Reservation: Property name, check-in/out dates, and times.

  • Payment: Payment type (Full or Half Now, Half Later), current status, and total amount paid.


Managing "Request to Book" (RTB)

If you have enabled RTB, you must manually approve or decline incoming inquiries.

How to Process a Request:

  1. Navigate to Reservations > Requests.

  2. Select a pending request to open the drawer.

  3. Review the guest details and dates.

  4. Approve: Select "Approve" (you can include an optional message).

  5. Decline: Select "Decline" and provide a reason for the guest if desired.

Pro Tip: Speed matters. Guests often message multiple hosts; responding quickly ensures they don't book a competitor's property while waiting for your approval.


Auditing Invoices and Fees

To ensure your Wander Site is perfectly synced with your PMS, you can view a granular financial breakdown for every booking:

  1. Open the Reservation Drawer.

  2. Click on the Guest's Name to go to their profile.

  3. Select the Invoices tab and click the relevant invoice.

The Invoice includes:

  • Subtotal: Nightly rate x number of nights.

  • Fees: Cleaning fees, pet fees, and other additional charges.

  • Taxes: All applicable occupancy and local taxes.

  • Platform Fees: Breakdown of the 3% Wander fee and 2.85% Stripe processing fee.

  • Totals: The final amount charged to the guest vs. the amount currently paid.


Reservation Status Reference

Status

Definition

Confirmed

Payment processed; booking is officially on the calendar.

Pending

An RTB inquiry waiting for host action.

Declined

The host rejected the booking request.

Expired

The RTB window closed before the host took action.

Cancelled

A previously confirmed booking that has been voided.


Pro Tips for Success

  • Verify with the Home Page: Use the Dashboard Home for a high-level view of your conversion rates and total sales before diving into specific reservation details.

  • Trust but Verify: Use the invoice breakdown to reconcile with your PMS monthly. If you see a discrepancy in taxes or fees, contact support@wander.com immediately.

  • Notifications: Keep an eye on your email; Wander sends direct alerts for new RTB requests with "Approve" buttons built right into the email.
