How to edit clip details before publishing

👀 Availability

AI writing, platform-specific copy, thumbnails, direct publishing, and connected account options can depend on your plan and platform permissions.

Use Details to prepare your clip information before exporting or publishing.

You can edit the clip title, add tags, and upload a thumbnail to help your video look clearer and more complete when shared.

Where to edit Details

You can edit Details in two places:

Entry point

When to use it

Video Editor > Details

Use this when you want to prepare the clip before exporting or opening the publish flow

Publish popup

Use this when you are ready to publish and want to review or adjust the final social media content

Edits are saved to your cloud project as you work.

What you can edit

Details includes the main fields used for publishing:

Field

What it is for

Title

The main title or headline for the clip

Description

The caption, post text, or video description shown with the clip

Tag

Keywords or hashtags that help describe the clip

Thumbnail

The cover image used when the clip is shared or published

You can enter these fields manually or click the AI writing button when you want WayinVideo to help generate or rewrite them.

Edit or generate a title

Use the Title field for the clearest version of what the clip is about.

A good title should:

  • Make the topic easy to understand

  • Show the strongest hook or payoff

  • Fit the platform where you plan to publish

  • Stay within the title character limit shown in the editor

You can write the title yourself, or use AI to generate a stronger version.

For example, instead of a general title like:

Naruto battle scene

You could use:

Chakra Engine: Naruto's Relentless War Strategy

Edit or generate a description

Use the Description field for the social media caption or video description.

The description can include:

  • A short summary of the clip

  • Context for viewers

  • A question or call to action

  • Keywords related to the topic

  • Hashtags when they fit the platform

You can write the description manually or use AI to generate one based on the clip.

Add or edit tags

Use Tags to describe the clip's topic, category, characters, product, industry, or theme.

Tags can help you organize clips and prepare them for publishing.

Examples:

  • #Naruto

  • #Gaming

  • #Strategy

  • #ProductDemo

  • #MarketingTips

You can remove tags that do not fit and add new ones before publishing.

Use AI writing for connected platforms

WayinVideo's AI writing is designed for social publishing, not just generic text.

When you publish to connected social accounts, WayinVideo can use the destination platform to help shape the title, description, and tags. This means the copy can be adjusted for platforms such as:

Platform

What AI writing may optimize for

YouTube

Clear titles, searchable descriptions, and relevant tags

Instagram

Shorter captions, stronger hooks, and hashtag-friendly copy

TikTok

Fast, attention-focused wording and trend-friendly phrasing

If you publish to more than one platform, review each platform's content before posting. A title that works well for YouTube may be too long or too formal for TikTok or Instagram.

Add a thumbnail

Thumbnail is optional, but it can help your clip stand out when shared.

From Details, you can:

  • Upload an image

  • Generate an AI Thumbnail

  • Select a frame from the video

For a full guide to thumbnail generation, see How to make an AI thumbnail for your clip.

👀 Thumbnails depend on the destination platform

Whether a thumbnail appears on a published post can depend on the destination platform and content type. If you set a thumbnail but do not see it after publishing, this may be due to the platform's own rules. If you are unsure, check the platform's current guidelines for your content type.

Review before publishing

Before you publish, check:

  • The title is clear and platform-ready

  • The description matches the clip

  • Tags are relevant and not overused

  • The thumbnail represents the clip well

  • Platform-specific copy looks right for each connected account

After reviewing Details, continue with export, direct publishing, or bulk publishing.
