The Automation Templates feature in Whippy allows you to create reusable templates that streamline campaign actions. This guide will walk you through the steps to create, save, and use automation templates.
1. Go to the Automations Page
Navigate to the Automations page in Whippy https://app.whippy.co/automations/keywords
2. Navigate to the Templates Tab
Select the Templates tab from the left-hand menu to manage automation templates.
3. Click the Create Template Button
Click the Create Template button to start building a new automation template.
4. Specify Basic Information
Fill in the required information for the template and click “Create Template” button
Template Title: Provide a name for your template.
Access Level: Choose between Personal or Organization (This determines who can view and use the template)
Template Usage: Specify whether the template will be used As Is or Duplicated for future use.
5. Choose the Trigger Type
Select a Trigger Type for the automation. For this example, we choose the Link Trigger.
💡Available triggers include:
Keyword Trigger (When a contact responds with a keyword…)
Response Trigger (When a contact responds to a message…)
Link Trigger(When a contact clicks on a message link…)
6. Select Action Type from the List
Choose an action from the list of available actions. For this example, we choose Send Message.

Add Tags to Contact
Remove Tags from Contact
Assign User
Unassign Conversation
Opt Contacts In/Out
Notify Users
Add/Remove from Sequence
Move Sequence Step
Update Conversation Status
Send Email
7. Enter the Auto-Response Message and Save the Trigger
Compose the auto-response message for the selected action and save the trigger.
8. Done! Your Automation Template is Ready
You have successfully created your automation template. You can now use it in your campaigns or add more actions by clicking the Add Action button.
How to Use Your Automation Template in a Campaign
1. Create Your Campaign
Start by creating your campaign in Whippy by following this link https://app.whippy.co/campaigns/create
2. Navigate to the Automation Section
In the campaign setup, go to the Automation section.
3. Click the Add Trigger Button
Click the Add Trigger button to attach an automation to your campaign.
4. Select "Automation Templates" Option
From the list of options, select Automation Templates.
5. Select Your Template
Choose the automation template you created from the list.
💡Tip: You can preview your selected template by clicking the eye icon before using it.
